In 1999, Mark Proudfoot had an idea to sell overclocked CPUs with guaranteed performance and stability. A keen overclocker, he saw value in taking the risk out of overclocking. From this idea, Overclockers UK was born. Over the following years, Overclockers UK would realise huge growth. Focus was placed on expanding the product range offered on the website to include the best performance hardware at competitive prices.
August 1999
The original Overclockers UK Forums started, featuring a unique blend of computer and lifestyle discussion topics.
2000
Overclockers UK sets up first premises and shop at Imex Business Park, Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent.
2002
After what forum members refer to as ‘the big nuke’, the Overclockers UK Forums are reset to how they are to this day.
2009
Overclockers UK moves again, this time to High Carr Business Park in Newcastle-Under-Lyme.
October 2011
Overclockers UK attends their first event, the only ever London International Technology Show
On 30th January 2012, Overclockers UK was acquired by Caseking, the leading European distributor of cases, case mods, and cooling products to the enthusiast market. Following this they moved to a new facility in Newcastle-under-Lyme that was twice the size of the previous warehouse. In November of that year, Overclockers UK opened a 100 square metre shop, complete with interactive displays allowing customers to try out some of the best performance hardware currently available.

The legendary OcUK Mugs were launched, providing "maximum 'Hot Drink Holding' performance" as well as being "Desk Mountable for increased stability".

Overclockers UK launched an energy drink called 'OC Fuel' promising those who bought it they will 'will look incredible holding this in public too!'.

Moved premises to Lymedale Cross; Lower Milehouse Lane, in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, doubling facility size and increasing shop size to 100 square metres.

World champion overclocker Ian ‘8Pack’ Parry joined the team and the '8Pack' brand was born.

Overclockers UK’s first appearance at Insomnia, a gaming festival held twice a year, starting out at Newbury, moving onto Telford and Coventry, to where it is today at the NEC in Birmingham.
Q1 2016
In partnership with HTC Vive, Overclockers UK built a 20 square metre shop extension for customers to experience VR for free in a dedicated setting.
