There have been some phenomenal gaming crossovers in the past, and that got us thinking… What gaming crossovers would we like to see?
There are already some absolute bangers out there, when it comes to crossovers. From Kingdom Hearts to Geralt in Fortnite, it always makes us feel a little giddy with joy to see a character turn up somewhere unexpected. That is the beauty of a well-done crossover. Naturally, we here at Overclockers UK thought we could cook up a few crossover ideas that have potential and more that are somewhat unhinged. But that’s half the fun!
1. Uncharted and Tomb Raider
Starting strong with something entirely feasible: a crossover between Uncharted and Tomb Raider. Both Nathan Drake and Lara Croft are treasure hunters with deadly skill sets. Match made in heaven! To start with, they’d be competing against each other, trying to beat the other to the treasure. But, of course, the antagonist (from either universe) will force them to work together and begrudgingly respect each other.
As for gameplay, I reckon you’d play a few early levels solo – a few as Drake and a few as Lara. Once the main villain has revealed himself, then you’d join forces and unlock some cool co-op combat and climbing skills. I spy a great two-player game in the works here!
Fancy reliving Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy? Do it with glorious, enhanced graphics on the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Edition – remastered for the latest generation of consoles and gaming hardware.
2. Control and Alan Wake
Next, we have Control and Alan Wake, both developed by Remedy Entertainment. It stands to reason that these games exist in the same universe. They are but a hop, skip, and a jump away from wandering into each other’s set.
The reason why we’d like to see Alan Wake team up with the Federal Bureau of Control is because of the gelling themes. Both games are thrillers, so there’ll definitely be high-stakes action. Alan Wake is a horror game, whilst Control has supernatural elements to it – two genres that work beautifully together. The FBC could be investigating a series of murders based on Alan Wake’s novels, making him suspect number one. Wait, that’s the pilot episode of Castle… If it ain’t broke!
Great gaming crossovers need phenomenal gaming PCs to play them. Our pre-built Refract Gaming range features a veritable rainbow of PCs, each crafted to suit a different level and style of gameplay. Explore the full range today and see which Refract PC suits your needs!
3. GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2
Arguably, GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 are already the same game. You play as criminals in a gang, complete episodic missions, and have an expansive open world to explore. One’s just modern day. But this is why I reckon they’d crossover quite seamlessly. So long as you can accept the concept of time travel within these universes. They are both developed by Rockstar Games, too.
The way I see it, in a mission gone horribly wrong, Michael, Franklin, and Trevor get transported back in time. They’ve been tasked with sabotaging a high-end research facility and a freak accident happens when the mission goes sideways, triggering the super-secret time machine this facility has made. Cue our three outlaws being transported back to the wild west. Where they immediately butt heads with Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang.
From this point, you’d have the option to play as either gang, there’d be lots of overlapping stories, and the narrative would develop using the Red Dead framework of choices matter.
Rumours and hints of gameplay for GTA VI have been frequenting our news feeds for a while now. We took a look at the official announcement from Rockstar, just to feel the hype!
4. A Nickelodeon Version of Kingdom Hearts
Kingdom Hearts is one of my favourite games. The Disney and Final Fantasy universes work so well together. As a consumer, I want more. (Apparently three main games and several spin-offs is not enough.) This time, however, there should be a Nickelodeon equivalent. A classic JRPG with a healthy dose of Nick chaos.
Of course, it couldn’t be a direct counterpart, there is no iconic mascot serving as the face of Nickelodeon so the Mickey Mouse, Donald, and Goofy aspect of Kingdom Hearts would need a serious tweak. Plus, the whole princess/heart thing wouldn’t really translate. But that would be a problem for the game devs to solve, I’m just the ideas gal.
Where I see this game excelling is in the worlds. Much like in Kingdom Hearts, you would travel to these little Nickelodeon-inspired levels and team up with an iconic character to solve the issue and progress the story. Need some examples? You got it!
Travel to Reptar Land and team up with Tommy Pickles. Find yourself in the depths of the jungle, guided by Eliza Thornberry. Explore Bikini Bottom with the help of everyone’s favourite giggling sponge. I mean, SpongeBob SquarePants has made his way onto Minecraft and even has his own multiverse, is it really a stretch to play him in a JRPG?
Kingdom Hearts is undeniably colourful. Do you look on in envy wishing your gaming set-up had that splash of colour too? Well, check out this veritable rainbow of peripherals available at Overclockers UK, right now!
5. Elden Ring and Cyberpunk 2077
Now moving into a slightly more bonkers suggestion, a crossover, or rather a mash-up, of Elden Ring and Cyberpunk 2077. The vision I have would take elements of both games and bring them together into something new. The Night City could be another town in Lands Between, surrounded by rolling fields filled with massive monsters.
What would really bring these worlds together is integrating the Cyberpunk modding mechanic. Engineer your body and weapons with extreme mechanical enhancements and make your claim as the rightful Elden Lord. Could even take on a steampunk style to make it fit the aesthetic better.
We love Cyberpunk 2077, so we were super hyped to see it finally reach SteamDeck Verified status!
6. The Sims and the MCU
Now, this next crossover suggestion is one I’m sure many of you have fantasised about – at least in some aspect. The Sims meets the MCU. I realise the MCU isn’t a game in general, but they have many games as part of the universe, so I say it checks. (Plus, I’m the one writing this, I make the rules. Muahaha?)
This would literally be The Sims, with pre-built families of familiar Marvel characters and superhero careers. Move Tony Stark into a starter home to build his fortune and create Stark Tower. Send Peter Parker to school by day and to his after-school hero job in the evening. But also, you would be able to create your own superhero from scratch, with a pool of popular powers available to choose from.
Even better, you would be able to use your powers in every day settings. Play with telekinetic powers and have the option to lift objects with your mind. Set your morning waffles on fire? Put it out with your cryokensis! Embarrassed yourself in front of your crush? Turn invisible. The Sims has always been about pushing life to the limits, so why not have super powers?
Plus, this idea could work with so many other franchises too. The Sims and Lord of the Rings? One neighbourhood is The Shire, the next is Gondor, and another is Mordor. The Sims and The Last of Us? Ellie is safe and Joel can live the ultimate dad life – bonus points if you can play as a Clicker. The Sims and Resident Evil? Am I the only one who would love to be neighbours with Lady Dimitrescu?
Need more Marvel in your life? Perhaps in pillow format? There are a number of noblechairs Special Edition Memory Foam Pillow Sets, and we honestly love them all.
7. Super Mario and Baba is You
Mario has been a gaming staple for years. Selling over 826 million game copies since 1981, the Mario games have spanned across genres, mediums, and generations of gamers. Whilst some of the more recent games have dabbled into the puzzle platformer format, we’d love to see a merge of Mario and Baba Is You.
Baba Is You is a fiendishly difficult puzzle platformer, where you can manipulate the rules of each level to help solve the problem ahead. Mario is famous for eating mushrooms to gain new abilities. What if, instead, each mushroom changed the rules of the level? Bring some genre innovation to a classic platform!

8. Kirby and Overcooked
If the previous seven entries on this list haven’t given you the inkling, I like a bit of well-rounded chaos. This is why I think the addition of Kirby to Overcooked is a winning combination. Overcooked is pretty simple in premise; people order the food, you make the food, you send it out, and get a tip. Peachy. Except your kitchen is in a hot air balloon, on a slippery iceberg surrounded by arctic waters, or divided across two lorries driving at different speeds along the highway.
So, imagine adding Kirby to the roster of chefs. Elevate that chaos by sucking in your ingredients or plates and yeeting them out across the kitchen. Hell, it could even be a way to prep the vegetables or clean the plates!
Overcooked is best played with friends. Make sure every order you give as head chef is heard, with a premium quality gaming headset.
9. Lego and Pokémon
How has it taken until crossover number nine for me to get to Pokémon and Lego? Lego brings a wonderful whimsy and sense of humour to their games. Seriously, how hilarious is Lego Star Wars? I think we can all agree that Pokémon needs this treatment. I can picture the Lego Brock now getting mega heart eyes for Nurse Joy.
What story form the game would take is a bit of a conundrum, though. Lego versions of Red and Blue? Follow the various film and TV series narratives? Or maybe something entirely new, like an open world game that visits every region? We’re nine gens in and there are over a thousand Pokémon, so it’s clear to see there is plenty of gaming fodder. Our resident Poké-nerd suggests the original story with only Pokémon set in the world like the Mystery Dungeon spin-offs. We have options, people!
The thing I am most excited about, though, is the evolution sequence. Can you imagine?!
What? PIKACHU is evolving! Then Pikachu breaks down into individual Lego bricks and reassembles as a Raichu. All with that iconic Lego brick click in the background.
Why is this not already a thing?!
There are so many great Lego games to pick from, but our current favourite has to be Lego Builder’s Journey. It’s all the fun of building without having to tidy up and put away your Lego.
10. Halo and The Elders Scrolls Online
The final crossover on our list is between Halo and The Elder Scrolls Online. The Halo franchise is peak FPS whilst The Elder Scrolls Online dominates in the MMORPG sphere. How would these games work together?
I would keep the MMORPG, open world map of Tamriel. You collect quests from NPCs, level up against monsters, and dungeon crawl. Except, instead of playing as a fantasy character, you’re Master Chief. Or, rather, a solider in the iconic Halo armour with different gun classes to choose from. Hey, if Final Fantasy X-2 can have a gun mage, then so can my made-up crossover between Halo and ESO.
My one stipulation, there would have to be no explanation as to why spaceships, aliens, and futuristic soldiers are in this classic fantasy setting. They just are. I can’t really quantify why I feel this way, it’s just a vibe that I am going with.
There are so many great special edition noblechairs, but the HERO The Elder Scrolls Online Edition just hits different. The gold detailing, the clan crests, the Deadric sigils; every stitch is perfection.
