Sony has been throwing us PC gamers plenty of bones by treating us to formerly PS5-exclusive titles in recent years. Many games that never seemed like they would stray from their natural console habitat are now gloriously in the hands of the PC and modding community.
But we want more.
So, while we look at a fab five that we already have our hands on, allow us to put out another five into the universe that we hope make the jump over soon. Just…nothing like whatever happened with the Last of Us Part I again please.
Best #1 – Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales
We love you Peter, but it’s Brooklyn’s own Spider-Man that is getting the crown here. Both of insomniac’s exceptional Spider-Man games let you live out your wall-crawling, web-slinging-crime-fighting fantasies to perfection, but it’s the second in the series that shows the polish. While its story is comparatively truncated, seeing Miles come into his own from the shadow of his more famous red and blue counterpart never gets old. Top that off with explosive Venom powers, the beauty of New York in the winter, plus a more manageable amount of collectables and upgrade currencies, you have a recipe for a top tier Marvel game.

Hope #1 – Spider-Man 2
I mean, how could you not see this coming? Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to land on PlayStation 5 October 20th 2023, and already looks bigger and better than the first two games combined. With the addition of Brooklyn and Queens for a truly massive New York to explore plus the ability to switch between both Spider-Men on the freaking fly, this is a game that’s crying out for a PC port to really put it through its paces. Hopefully, we won’t be waiting on Sony and Insomniac for too long to make our dreams come true.
Best #2 – Returnal
Now we do love ourselves a good timeloop game around here, and Returnal delivers that spice with some added sci-fi and horror seasoning. One of the PS5’s earliest exclusives had a lot to prove, and it did so with aplomb. Taking on the role of skilled astronaut Selene, you crash land on the dangerous alien world of Atropos. Your mission is to survive as long as you can, taking the knowledge and skills you accumulate through each loop to hopefully find a way off this forsaken planet.

Hope #2 – The Last of Us Part II
Let’s not mince words here. The launch of The Last of Us Part I on PC did not go down smoothly. Does that stop either of these games being incredible works of art that more people need to experience for themselves? Not at all. Also, to be honest, we’re still just swooning at the sheer thought of Pedro Pascal as Joel. So, if Naughty Dog could hurry up and get this game to PC so someone can mod him in, that’d be great.
Best #3 – Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection
Speaking of Naughty Dog, their other big game franchise not starring a hyperactive marsupial is already in the hands of PC gamers. The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves collection brings the series’ signature action-adventure style in the form of not one, but two games! Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, the final installment in the storied journey of Nathan Drake, and The Lost Legacy, a spin-off journey starring Drake’s fellow thief Chloe Frazer.

Hope #3 – Horizon Forbidden West
From one modern PlayStation icon to another, how about we get ourselves a little more Aloy on our PCs? Forbidden West improves over Zero Dawn, which is already available on PC, in every way. The world-building is more confident, the story better paced and more engaging, the characters compelling and charming, and the machine monster hunting action is at its absolute best. If nothing else, you’ll walk away desperate to buy yourself a LEGO Tallneck to sit on your setup.
Our wishes came true! Horizon Forbidden West finally hit our gaming PCs in March 2024. You can check out a full breakdown in our dedicated article.
Best #4 – God of War
Oh boy, will we ever tire of this epic father and son journey through Norse mythology? 2018’s God of War has been on the PC for a little while now, so honestly if you haven’t played it yet you have no one to blame but yourself. This soft reboot of the franchise is everything peak gaming should be; a compelling narrative with beautiful performances from its cast, an exciting world full of interesting characters, and heart-pounding action delivered with oodles of style. Grab your axe, we’re going to Midgard.

Hope #4 – God of War Ragnarok
Second verse, same as the first. It should be considered a war crime that PC gamers haven’t got their hands on this sequel yet. God of War Ragnarok manages to take everything great about the first game, distill it down, squeeze out those few imperfections, and deliver something that is almost impossibly bigger, bolder, and more emotional. We will speak no more of it because it really needs to be experienced firsthand.
Once again, PlayStation heard our wishes and deigned to make them come true. God of War Ragnarök is officially available to play on PC as of September 19th 2024.
Best #5 – Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
The most recent release to grace this list, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart showed the best of what Sony’s new console could do. We’re happy to report that translates over to the PC as this vibrant, dimension-hopping adventure is as stunning to see as it is fun to play. 20 years has done nothing to diminish the series’ tongue-in-cheek humour and penchant for innuendo either.

Hope #5 – Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
It might seem beyond optimistic to hope for a game that’s not even been released yet to get a PC port, but can you blame us? The first part of this proposed trilogy, Final Fantasy VII Remake, got to make the jump so surely the second entry will too? While even PS5 players have a while to wait until they can take it for a spin – February 2024 to be precise – surely Square Enix won’t make us wait too long to get our hands on it? It has Cloud on a segway for Sephiroth’s sake!
