The tech world is once again buzzing with speculation about AMD’s next major releases! In this article, we’re breaking down all the rumours about AMD’s upcoming Radeon RX 8000 Series GPUs and Zen 5 CPUs.

What are the Rumoured AMD Radeon RX 8000 Series GPUs?

While AMD has kept official details under wraps, various leaks and industry insiders are providing tantalising hints about what we can expect from the Radeon RX 8000 Series, also known as RDNA 4 GPUs. Based on these leaks, it’s believed that AMD’s RDNA 4 line-up will include at least two primary configurations: Navi 48 and Navi 44.

AMD Ryzen 9000 Series Desktop Processors:

  • Architecture: RDNA 4
  • Process Node: TSMC N4P
  • Chip Variants: Navi 48, Navi 44
  • Memory Type: GDDR6
  • Bus Width: Up to 256-bit
  • Clock Speed: Between 3GHz and 3.3GHz

When Will AMD Radeon RX 8000 Series GPUs Launch?

The release date for the Radeon RX 8000 Series is still uncertain, with different sources suggesting various timelines. However, most leakers agree that these GPUs are likely to hit the market in the second half of 2024. Some sources even hint at a possible launch as late as Q4 2024!

AMD Radeon RX 8000 Series Specifications

Although specifics are still largely speculative, the AMD RDNA 4 GPUs are expected to target the midrange market, rather than competing directly with NVIDIA’s future high-end offerings like the RTX 5090. The new architecture is anticipated to deliver significant improvements in efficiency and performance, but may not reach the top-tier specifications of its competitors.

What About AMD Zen 5 CPUs?

AMD made waves at Computex 2024 with the announcement of their upcoming Zen 5 architecture, which will power both the Ryzen 9000 Series desktop processors and the Ryzen AI 300 Series for laptops. These next-gen processors are set to deliver groundbreaking performance and advanced AI capabilities… whatever that means.

AMD Ryzen 9000 Series Desktop Processors:

  • Architecture: Zen 5
  • Performance Improvement: 16% better IPC compared to Zen 4
  • Flagship Model: Ryzen 9 9950X
  • AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series Processors:

Architecture: Zen 5 with AMD XDNA 2

  • AI Processing Power: 50 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second)
  • Cores/Threads: Up to 12 cores and 24 threads
  • Graphics Architecture: RDNA 3.5 integrated graphics

Launch Timeline for AMD Zen 5 CPUs

Zen 5 processors are expected to debut alongside the RDNA 4 GPUs, potentially within the same broad timeframe of late 2024.
