What is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla about?
The Assassin’s Creed franchise has been around since 2007 and the latest installment titled Valhalla was confirmed recently by Ubisoft. We got our first glimpse of the game on April 29, when artist BossLogic slowly unveiled some stunning Viking-themed art for the game on Twitch. Valhalla follows the story of a Viking raider Eivor, a fearless warrior who can fight with dual-wield axes, swords, or even a shield.
During the game, your mission is to sail across the North Sea and lead your clan from icy desolation in Norway to a new home amid the lush farmlands of ninth-century England. Provide for your people by constructing, customizing, and upgrading your settlement with new buildings like barracks, blacksmiths, and tattoo parlors, all while recruiting new members to grow your clan. Conquer this hostile land with close-quarters combat, long-range archery, or assassination with your Hidden Blade to earn a place in Valhalla.
This game nicely bridges the gap between the ancient worlds of Egypt and Greece and the more modern eras within the series. Check out the stunning cinematic trailer below which was released on the 30th of April.

What are the PC system requirements for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?
There has been no official announcement on the PC specifications required to play Assassins Creed Valhalla but with the game destined to use the engine AnvilNext 2.0 which was at the heart of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Origins, the hardware requirements are likely to be similar. In light of this, there are several spec sheets floating around online with predicted specifications which are below.

What’s a good PC to play Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on?
We’ve only seen a cinematic trailer so far and it’s hard to tell what to expect performance-wise from the limited number of gameplay screenshots. However, with such beautiful scenery and plenty of graphical eye candy, you will require decent hardware to get the best experience. Previous Assassin’s Creed games have been optimised rather poorly for PC so I hope that Ubisoft can improve things for this latest release. If not we can expect it to be demanding on both the CPU and GPU with 60fps on high settings achievable for only high spec PCs. The predicted specifications include a lot of past generation hardware so I’ve put my own spin on it and selected a few systems with updated hardware that should give the best performance at each price point. | |||
