We at Overclockers UK were very fortunate to partner with the local charity Autism Inclusive recently. They reached out to us for help kitting out their gaming room, and we were more than happy to lend a hand. Together with our friends at gaming chair manufacturer Nitro Concepts and XBOX UK, we were able to get their gaming room an upgrade. As April is Autism Awareness Month, we wanted to share more about this amazing organisation with you.
Autism Inclusive’s Mission
Autism Inclusive supports autistic adults and children, those with ADHD, or any other neurodiversity, as well as their families and carers. In their words, whether you are diagnosed or suspected, all are welcome. They offer a variety of support; peer to peer emotional support, access to professional, and educational workshops. They also run events throughout the year and weekly group activities.
Their gaming night is held twice a week for a couple of hours. The evening allows teenagers and young adults to attend an enjoyable activity in a friendly, safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment. They can game on their own or socialise with others. The gaming room has access to several Xbox consoles and games such as FIFA, Fortnite, and the autism-friendly Minecraft. Service users can also ask for other titles and, if they don’t currently have them, Autism Inclusive go out to get the games for them.
How We Were Able to Help
Autism Inclusive reached out to us for our expertise and to help them improve their gaming room. Thanks to our friends at Nitro Concepts we were able to provide the charity with plenty of gaming chairs for their service users to get comfy in on their gaming nights. We paid a visit to see how they were getting on with their new equipment, which you can see for yourself.
The new gaming chairs proved a hit. Service users are enjoying them, and we hope they’ll gaming nights more than ever. Plus, thanks to XBOX UK, Autism Inclusive now has even more games to offer everyone through Xbox Games Pass.
