What Cooling Do You Need for the NVIDIA RTX 50 Series
Your NVIDIA RTX 50 Series GPU will feature its own on-board cooling whether this is a dual- or triple-slot solution. However, this doesn’t mean that your PC and other components couldn’t do with a little extra thermal performance to ensure temperatures stay to a minimum and your computer performs whisper quiet. This can range from extra fans, air coolers, or even AiOs for your processor.
When you are selecting your GPU and cooling method, you’ll want to ensure your PC case has enough room for all your hardware. Your chassis will need to have a big enough GPU clearance to accommodate your chosen RTX 50 Series along with the room for all your fans and even multiple radiators, if that’s your thing. That’s why we recommend that you always consult with the specification of your case through either the manufacturer’s web page or product manual.
What’s more, you also need to consider the layout of your fans. Do you want to just use standard fans or perhaps even a combination of normal and reverse? It’s all down to personal choice but if you aren’t sure what these terms mean, we’re here to explain.
A reserve fan inverts the direction of air, pushing it the opposite direction of a standard fan. Reverse fans are especially helpful if you want to circulate air more evenly throughout your case and show off that RGB lighting since there’ll be no fan cage blocking your view. Alternatively, a standard fan does exactly what it says on the box. They blow air in one direction and utilise powerful static pressure to facilitate optimum temperatures.
Whatever cooling solution you choose, you’ll want to ensure it facilitates lots of natural air throughout your case, along with providing additional thermal support to the components that need it most. Any extra aesthetic touches are all down to personal preferences, but you can truly make your PC your own with customisable RGB lighting or adjustable LED screens which can display your favourite GIFs and more.
