What GPU Do You Need for The Sims 4
The official PC specs of The Sims 4 aren’t too demanding as the game has been optimised to run on a range of PCs and laptops. The Sims turns 25!
2025 marks the 25th birthday of The Sims franchise and there’s plenty to celebrate. Players of The Sims 4 can enjoy a huge free base game update with over 70 news items across Create A Sim and Build/Buy Mode.
That’s not all however!
Get your party hats at the ready for EA is hosting a huge 25 hour livestream on the 4th of February 2025 that will feature plenty of our favourite Sims creators including Plumbella, Caryn and Connie, Ebonix, SpringSims, Trixie, and Katya, along with some surprise guests. There’s no news about we can expect to see in this 25-hour livestream, but you’ll be sure to want plenty of snacks and a cosy blanket to keep you company.
In addition to the birthday livestream, on the 4th of February 2025, a new in-game event will start, called The Blast From The Past. Those who have played The Sims for a looong time will recognise some of these items from the much-loved wall phones, alarm clocks, dance floors, surprise birthday cake, along with milk cartons with plenty of easter eggs to previous games and characters in from the franchise.
Turn Back the Clock
In honour of The Sims turning 25, much to everyone’s surprise, EA re-released the original The Sims and The Sims 2, with almost every DLC (rest in peace IKEA Home Stuff). You can purchase these re-releases as one huge 25th birthday bundle or as separate standalone games and DLCs. The standalone legacy additions even include some extra content for The Sims 4 including the Throwback Fit Kit and Grunge Revival Kit.
These re-releases have been optimised to now run with Windows 10/11 systems and do feature several essential fixes. This includes:
- Updated rendering engines for both games
- Includes more versatile pixel resolution scaling for larger monitors
- Essential bug fixes
