Silent Hill 2 Gameplay
Developed by Bloober Team SA and published by KONAMI, Silent Hill 2 is a remake of the 2001 game of the same name. You play as James, a widower who has received a letter from his late wife. Upon returning to Silent Hill, a place of many shared memories, you find a woman who bears more than a passing resemblance to his wife…
The Remaster
Silent Hill 2 takes you on the same spine-chilling adventure as the original game, but with a whole ruck of updates and improvements that elevates this haunting story to new heights.
Bringing the visuals up to date, Silent Hill 2 has been made with full support for ray tracing and other cutting-edge graphical advances. The eerie landscape is rendered with realistic lighting, making the ambience more unsettling than ever before. Plus, with updated character designs and a new, immersive soundscape, you’re really going to feel like you’re in the thick of it.
One major change for the remake is the camera. Instead of a fixed camera viewpoint, this game uses an over-the-shoulder perspective that really puts you in James’ shoes. Feel closer to the action, as he explores the town and comes face to face with the horrific monsters.
The combat system has been updated too. While familiar weapons like the handgun and steel pipe have made their return, you can now employ carefully timed dodges, aim down sights, and really get into the action thanks to the new perspective. Fighting in monster encounters is more visceral, engaging, and nerve-wracking than ever before!
Finally, the environment is much larger than in the original game. Locations and buildings that were once closed off are now free to be explored. There are even new places added just for the remake. Leave no stone unturned in Silent Hill!

The Silent Hill 2 remaster will be available to play on PlayStation 5 and PC from October 8th 2024. The PC version supports Xbox, DualShock, and DualSense controllers.
