I am admittedly a little late to the party with this one. Arcade Paradise launched back on Steam and consoles in August of 2022, and then in VR on Meta Quest back in April. However, I finally have a chance to gush over this absolute nostalgia-filled gem thanks to its upcoming PSVR2 and PCVR launch!
Step Back into 1993
In Arcade Paradise VR, you step into the shoes of Ashley, a rebellious teenager determined to transform the dilapidated King Wash laundromat into a thriving arcade paradise. Set in the gritty town of Grindstone, the game brilliantly combines the thrill of arcade gaming with the responsibilities of running a business. Manage day-to-day tasks like picking up gum, doing laundry, and scrubbing toilets—all while earning money to unlock more arcade units.
From Rags to Riches – or Clothes to Coins
The journey from a run-down laundromat to a booming arcade business is both challenging and rewarding. The game features 12 fully realised VR cabinets alongside 27 traditionally controlled games from the original release. Engage in various mini-games to complete chores and earn cash, then reinvest your hard-earned money into unlocking and upgrading arcade machines. Every task, whether it’s tossing trash in a basketball-style mini-game or meticulously cleaning, contributes to your grand objective: creating the ultimate arcade paradise.
