Hot people, queer-friendly, dark humour, and multiplayer? Damn, Doomsday Paradise, you looking hella fine. In this article, we’re taking a look at probably the best dating game I’ve ever seen… not that I play a lot of dating games or anything though, I swear.
We’ve all been there. You’ve taken too much cold medicine or maybe had one too many hay fever tablets, and now you’re seeing half-naked crab men in your room. Can’t sneeze if you’re hallucinating! Ain’t that right, BRAND NAME?! The dev of Doomsday Paradise must have been on one heck of a roll when they came up with the plot for this one! Doomsday Paradise is everything my gaming life has been missing, and I think you need this queer-positive multiplayer dating sim in your life, too.
A Paradise of Hunks
Doomsday Paradise is an LGBTQ+, dark-humour multiplayer dating simulator with over 100 different endings and thirteen singles to romance. Sounds gay. I’m in! So, as I’m sure you can imagine, when a key for us here at the OcUK blog and an extra one for any of our press pals to play multiplayer with was offered up, I all but bit their hand off. Bold of them to assume I have any friends, though.
“It’s taken years of work to get here and I couldn’t be happier,”
“I have finally created a game as horny as I am.” – Shadi Taha, Lemonade Flashbang
Self-described as “TikTok’s horniest dating sim” (yes, someone really sent me a press release with those words in), Doomsday Paradise is more than your usual dating game. No two playthroughs are the same. With just five in-game days left before the impending apocalypse and over 100 possible endings, it is up to you who you fight, flirt, and fu… functionally save the end of the world with. Or, hey, you could just sit at the bar with your newfound love and watch it all burn.
Doomsday Paradise starts with a couple of choices. You’ll need to decide who out of five lusty heroes you’ll play as, and to be honest, if you choose anything other than samurai frog or hot crab man, then you’re a fool.
The characters, both playable and NPC, are where Doomsday Paradise shines brightest. The visuals are honestly breathtaking throughout the game, with an art style that’s easy to fall for. However, character design is where these visuals step up a notch. Let’s talk about the elephant in the room… they’re all hot, but more than that they’re all unique in their design.
Our entire cast of pirates, criminals, monsters, wizards, and angels is pretty diverse in nature. All of our romanceable characters offer up different personalities that shine through in our five days of chatting, drinking, and fighting. Doomsday Paradise is a game that’s over pretty quickly and intended to be replayed time after time for those sweet, sweet 100+ endings, so you’ll undoubtedly find time to romance them all. Maybe you’ll even find and befriend a suspicious bear.
In addition to the honestly banging art of Doomsday Paradise is some really heckin cool environments. As always, I’ll keep this review as spoiler free as possible, but I will mention in particular the boss fight art design is incredible.
Gameplay
“Okay, Rob shut up about the game’s hotties and get on with how you actually play.” – You, probably.
What is Doomsday Paradises gameplay actually like, then? To put it bluntly, it is simple in nature but also pretty fun. In between chatting up hotties, you’ll make decisions on whether to study, party, work out, and more. These choices help shape your stats for fighting.
Throughout Doomsday Paradise, your main goal is to prepare for a fight whilst also ensuring you don’t die single (relatable, right?). With a cast of absurdly beautiful hunks and hunkettes to choose from, including a vampire who thinks he’s got magic powers and a monster girl who loves Halloween but isn’t entirely sure when it is, we’re spoiled for choice. Throughout the game, you’ll need to impress these newfound cuties by making choices.
The actual fighting in Doomsday Paradise is nothing particularly new, with a card-based system allowing you to choose your attacks. This might be a letdown for some of you, but to be honest, I enjoyed it. The game takes a more relaxed approach than others, and I’m here for it. Who has the time to worry about complex combat when there’s partying to be done, people to flirt with, and a space rat. What’s more, since you can play Doomsday Paradise with either a keyboard and mouse or a controller, the game is absolutely perfect for sitting back and chilling out.

Multiplayer
Now you may be wondering: Rob, if you don’t have any friends, how did you check out the multiplayer? We here at the Overclockers UK Blog pride ourselves in our extensive dossier of blackmail for occasions just like this.
Generally speaking, multiplayer is the last thing you’d expect to see in a dating sim. That being said, Doomsday Paradise works so incredibly well as a multiplayer experience you’ll want to bring some friends along for the ride. Don’t get me wrong, you can absolutely enjoy this game on your own, but it gets sooooo much better with your friends by your side.
Everyone’s choices throughout the five days affect the group’s overall narrative in this dating sim. Essentially, the more deranged your friends are, the more chaotic and interesting the game gets. You can either team up to work together effectively, or sabotage each other to claim the title of legendary hero.
Sabotage has never been this fun! Doomsday Paradise features support for Steam’s Remote Play Together, allowing up to three of your friends to join in on the insanity without owning the game. When connected this way, everyone can control what’s happening simultaneously, making sabotage easy and hard to resist. In multiplayer, combat and the choices you make are turn based.
Oh, no, they’re hot – Squidward Probably
Right at the start of the game, you’ll not only choose your character but also a crush. There are seven to pick from, and OMG, it is hard to do so. Scrolling through a sort of end-of-the-world Tinder, we get a minimal amount of information. In fact, all you have to choose with is a photo and a line of text. Hey, at least they bothered to write a BIO instead of just adding their Instagram username.
Let’s get real for a moment, folks… if you choose anyone other than loveable Pirate King AL, Wizard Vando, Wannabee Runt, my angel Micah, or Cult Leader Umbra, you should re-evaluate your choices in hot people. Of course, I am only joking. There is a pretty strong argument for why you should fall in love with each and every one of Doomsday Paradise’s characters.
In fact, if you let us know who you’d choose in the comments section, I might just reply with a 5000-word essay on why you’ve made the wrong choice.
TLDR:
In a genre often filled with overly long and complicated gameplay mechanics, Doomsday Paradise has broken the mould. Packed with absurdly beautiful hunks and hunkettes, alongside over 400 goofy scenarios and 120 different endings, Doomsday Paradise is the best Indie game I’ve played this year.
