On November 9th 2022, Dying Light 2 added a spicy DLC to its catalogue: the Bloody Ties expansion.
Bloody Ties was the first story DLC for Dying Light 2. It is now only available bundled with the original game, as part of the Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition.
As a new protagonist, with their own goal and motivation in this changed world, do you and your gaming PC have what it takes to survive and… stay human?
What We Know
Why do I always end up writing about all of the zombies, monsters, or otherwise scary stuff? I guess we’ll never know. What we do know, however, is Bloody Ties sees players embark on a new adventure into “the epicentre of death, wealth and absolute splendour”. Set in The Carnage Hall, this new area was once an old opera house but is now full of challenges, quests, a whole host of new weapon types, character interactions, and more.
Gameplay
From heavily stylish characters to pyrotechnics and… is that glitter? From the announcement trailer, Bloody Ties looks to be at least a e s t h e t i c, if nothing else!
We’re invited to “come back to the city and join the deadliest spectacle of this season” with all roads leading to Carnage Hall. From the trailer, Bloody Ties looks to centre around arena fighting zombies, humans, and whatever the heck that big fella in the cage is.
Finally, I can become a true gladiator! Father to a murdered son! Husband to a murdered wife. I will have my vengeance… okay we’re getting off track here.
“Anyone can be a warrior, what makes you different is the spirit of a champion.”
Our return to the city looks like it might be the bloodiest adventure we’ve had in the Dying Light series yet.

Dying Light: The Beast
Of course, we can’t talk Dying Light 2 DLCs without mentioning The Beast. Announced Summer 2024, this stand-alone game was originally supposed to be another DLC for Dying Light 2 but quickly became, well, its own beast. Incidentally, if you own a copy of the Reloaded Edition Dying Light 2, you will receive The Beast for free!
Expected in 2025, you will play as Kyle Crane, the legendary hero who has broken free after years of brutal experiments. Explore the tightly-crafted rural region, Castor Woods, a rich region to traverse by day. By night, however… The darkness brings out the worst in the deadly creatures that roam it, and you must find a way to survive. Will you unleash the beast and get your revenge?
