We’re back with even more gaming hardware news! This time we’re taking a closer look at the upcoming AMD chipsets that recently got leaked.

What are the New AMD Chipsets?

The juicy leak revealed that we can expect to see four new AMD chipsets hitting the virtual shelves soon. This includes:

  • X870E
  • X870
  • B850
  • B840

These motherboard chipsets are set to feature the AM5 socket unlocking support for the Ryzen 7000, 8000, and upcoming 9000 Series processors.

X870E

Set to be the latest flagship chipset, the X870E will come equipped with ultra-fast PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 memory to power all your games and demanding applications like never before. If you still desire that extra speed boost, the X870E includes both CPU and memory overclocking, with improved AMD EXPO support, allowing you to fine-tune your next-gen hardware to perfectly suit your needs.

X870

One step down from the X870E is the X870. The X870 chipset still packs a punch, capable of handling all your single- and multi-threaded tasks. Featuring USB 4.0, you can enjoy blisteringly fast transfer speeds across all your connected devices.

B850

Next up is the B850. This chipset boasts powerful DDR5 and PCIe 5.0, along with both CPU and memory overclocking to ensure you can get the most out of your hardware.

B840

Lastly, there is the B840 which has been optimised for casual gaming and light professional workloads. Unlike the other upcoming chipsets, the B840 doesn’t support CPU overclocking or PCIe 5.0. However, thanks to PCIe 4.0 and memory overclocking, you can still squeeze every drop of performance out of your hardware.
