Pilgor returns for Goat Simulator 3! The ever-realistic farmyard sandbox is back but this time with a twist – you’re not the only goat in the field.
That’s right, rather than taking turns to terrorise unsuspecting pedestrians as this animal icon, you and three friends can jump into the chaotic fun together. We’ve got everything you need to know to gather your herd and start playing en masse this weekend.
Unleash Havoc as Pilgor
For those who have made it this far without ever hearing of Goat Simulator, let’s get you up to speed. Like its predecessor, this game lets you take control of the titular goat Pilgor from a third-person perspective. Your goal is to explore, wreak havoc, and perform stunts.
With a sandbox world that is touted as being eighteen times larger than the original’s, there is plenty for you to uncover. These include whole sections that parody other gameplay styles, such as one part that takes aim at Wolfenstein 3D complete with FPS mechanics.
Returning mechanics include the ability to hitch your goat to items and objects by licking them. This is the peak game design you come to Goat Simulator 3 for. There’s also plenty of new ground being broken, with a story mode included for the first time in the series. Eat your heart out, War & Peace.
Gather Your Herd for Multiplayer Mayhem
What’s more fun than running around and causing wanton destruction and chaos as a goat? Doing it with your friends of course. Goat Simulator 3 features a co-op mode that will let you and up to three friends unite in the name of goats and mayhem. Not only does it work online but you can do it locally too to share the chaos from your sofa.
Sadly, it doesn’t seem like we can expect to get crossplay with Goat Simulator 3. Nothing announced or said by developer Coffee Stain Studios has indicated it will be part of this newly added online co-op mode.
What Happened to Goat Simulator 2?
If you are impressed by this series reaching the third game but very confused as to why you never heard of the second, there is good reason for that.
There is no Goat Simulator 2.
Although the original was rereleased across enough platforms to qualify as a sequel, Goat Simulator 3 is the first follow up title developed. So why is it called the third then? Well, like almost everything else this series does, it’s just a brilliant joke from the developers.
