Icarus Gameplay
Utilising PvE elements to fuel the gameplay, it is man versus world in Icarus. The goal is to extract and gather precious resources before the shuttle returns to the orbital space station. In order to survive, it is necessary to hunt, gather, and build a shelter against the hostile environment. Develop skills as you work for valuable raw materials, using the talent tree to unlock better feats that allow you to better adapt to this world.
Gameplay is kept fresh and unique, with loot and opponents being randomly generated. Additionally, you can take on Icarus with up to eight players in co-operative play. With eight of you mining for resources and building shelter, this game can take some wild turns! What’s more, if you are a lone wolf, there is also an offline mode where you can explore this hostile world solo.
Icarus Expansions
In the two years since its launch, Icarus has two expansions: Styx and New Frontiers. Developing on the thrilling survival gameplay, they offer new challenges, environments, and deadly creatures to overcome.
Styx introduced a new 64km map and critters such as crocodiles and Komodo dragons. Centred on a meandering river, this region had remained untouched by humans until the UDA gained access. Now prospectors can explore the valleys, desert rocks, and artic paths – a varied landscape to conquer. With new lands come plenty of new missions and operations to complete, too.
New Frontiers takes place in an area previously too dangerous for prospecting, called Prometheus. All history of this zone was bound by a gag order – until now. The terra forming process had failed and left the landscape raw with the indigenous life altered. Explore volcanic, swamp, and alien grasslands with new weather events and six chained narrative missions that take you deeper into this volatile landscape.
