The AMD X3D processors are equipped with the innovative 3D V-Cache technology that was first introduced in the summer of 2022. It’s exciting to see this stacked cache model being integrated so early in the Ryzen 7000 timeline! Even better, they are available [to pre-order] from Overclockers UK today!

Meet the New CPUs

There are a few processors joining the AMD Ryzen 7000 Series. We have the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D and the Ryzen 9 7900X3D. Both powerhouse CPUs in their own right, these processors have been crafted for high-performance gaming, efficient content creation, and top-quality streaming. The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is now available too! Also sporting the 3D V-Cache technology, this is a great processor for mainstream gamers and streamers. Here is a quick rundown of all three specs and how they compare.

AMD 3D V-Cache

What is AMD 3D V-Cache? This is AMD’s innovative stacked cache technology, that allows the X3D CPU models greater access to cached memory. The result? Much faster fetch rates and increased cache capacity which, in turn, enables this processor to more efficiently run your favourite AAA titles, creative software, and stream. This all leads to reduced latency and improved performance, as there is a significantly shorter wait time for new information in comparison to fetch rates from your RAM.

The Ryzen 9 7950X3D has a whopping 144MB of stacked cache, priming this processor for high-end gaming and content creation. Paired with boost speeds of up to 5.7GHz, sixteen cores, and thirty-two threads, this processor can efficiently manage whatever workload you throw at it. Here’s a graph comparing performance with the rival equivalent CPU.

The Ryzen 9 7900X3D has also been crafted for high-performance gaming and creating. Its cache capacity is 140MB, paired with twelve cores, twenty-four threads, and boost speeds up to 5.6GHz.

The Ryzen 7 7800X3D fits the bill for ultra-fast gaming performance. Its cache capacity is 104MB, working in tandem with eight cores, sixteen threads, and boost speeds up to 5.0GHz. Perfect for adding a bit of oomph to your mainstream gaming and streaming!

AMD Ryzen 7000 Series Features

In case you somehow missed it, AMD Ryzen 7000 Series has been built on a five-star platform. Each CPU is unlocked to at least 5GHz, although plenty go even higher! They are the first desktop processors to be crafted utilising a 5nm process. The new AM5 socket makes these processors future-proofed, with support for PCIe 5.0 on both GPUs and SSDs. Plus, they are equipped with DDR5 RAM and AMD EXPO, their innovative memory overclocking software.
