After teasing us back in August, AMD’s latest series of graphics cards armed with RDNA 3 is finally here. Introducing the AMD Radeon RX 7000 Series GPUs.
Would you like an uptick in native 4K performance by up to 1.7 times? Of course you would! How about nearly three times the performance on AI acceleration and ray tracing? Honestly, why am I even asking? The AMD Radeon RX 7900 Series facilitates the most advanced graphics for gamers and creators, alike. Even better, from this point on, you can put them in your virtual basket. Christmas has come early to Overclockers UK!
Limited Stock!
We have nearly sold out of AMD Radeon RX 7000 Series graphics cards! Currently, there is limited stock of select products. If the model you had your eye on has been snapped up, you can place a pre-order or sign up for stock notifications.

8Pack Meets the AMD Radeon RX 7000 Series
Briony caught up with champion overlocker, Ian “8Pack” Parry, to see what he thinks of this new generation of AMD Radeon graphics cards.
What is RDNA 3?
RDNA is AMD’s graphics card architecture, with the “3” denoting that it’s the third generation. The brand new chiplet design combines 5nm and 6nm process notes, with each being optimised for specific workloads. Absolutely ground-breaking, this architecture delivers up to 54% more performance per watt and 15% higher frequencies in comparison to the previous RDNA 2. What’s more, the interconnect linking graphics and memory system chiplets can reach speeds up to 5.3TB/s, making them the fastest in the world right now.
Other improved features include unified compute units, high-speed GGDR6 memory with a 384-bit interface, and second-generation AMD Infinity Cache technology. With these and other innovative technologies, RDNA 3 architecture can deliver up to a 1.7 times performance uplift, even at 4K. Plus, with DisplayPort 2.1 support, you can enjoy gaming and creating in stunning definition and quality. Game at 4K or even 8K at up to 480Hz and 164Hz, respectively.
All in all, some spicy stuff!
AMD Features
Like with previous AMD Radeon RX Series GPUs, the 7900 XT and 7900 XTX are supported by a range of AMD drivers and technologies to turbo charge your gaming and content creation. New to this generation is AMD Radiance Display Engine, which provides a 12 bit-per-channel colour for up to 68 million colours. The end result? Pin-point colour accuracy. Game on a veritable rainbow and create with true-to-life tone replication.
Both 7900 Series graphics cards will also come equipped with AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) upscaling technology. Available on an ever-growing selection of games, this innovative tech boosts frame rates during gameplay, helping to balance performance and quality. Currently, we are on FSR 2.2, but FSR 3 is slated for release in 2023.
With so many great drivers and AMD exclusive features, the Radeon RX 7900 Series is set to be a powerhouse GPU with incredible configurability. Access to these technologies can be found in AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition, which even has an in-game overlay to minimise interrupting the action. Here is just a taster of what you can find within this clean, modern, and easy to use interface.
- AMD Smart Access Memory: allows the CPU full access to the GPU memory.
- The Vulkan API: Powerful operating system compatibility, hardware efficiency, and rendering features.
- AMD Radeon Chill: Power saving technology that balances noise levels and boosted gameplay.
- AMD FreeSync: Synchronising GPU output with your monitor for no stuttering or tearing.
- AMD Link: Connectivity and cloud platform to streamline gaming across devices.
