The nominees and winner of this award are chosen by the community of Gayming Magazine. For 2023 a whole host of games, including Cult of the Lamb, Elden ring, Ghostwire Tokyo, Horizon Forbidden West, Stray, and more are up for the award.
At the 2022 Gayming Awards, Resident Evil Village took home the award. You can help choose this year’s winner with public voting for this category is open until January 13th.
Authentic Representation Award
Representation in gaming has exploded over the last decade, with more and more games straying from the generic straight white male protagonist cliché. The authentic representation award recognises games that have authentically represented LGBTQ+ characters within their narratives.
Seeing yourself and others like you represented in video games goes beyond immersion, it normalises…
The awards don’t stop here, either. Both the LGBTQ+ Streamer Rising Star Class of 23 and Gayming Icon award nominees are set to be announced in 2023. You can check out the full list of categories and nominees on the Gayming Magazine website. What’s more, public voting for both the Gayming Magazine Reader’s Award and LGBTQ + Streamer of the year categories is open until January 13th.
