Our favourite overclocker is back with a brand-new gaming PC. Part of the Infin8 range, meet the ABS Gaming PC. This All Black System is primed for powerful performance with a stunning yet understated aesthetic. 8Pack has channelled his dislike of RGB lighting into a sleek and all-around gaming powerhouse. Outstandingly spicy, on all accounts.
Infin8 ABS
Oh, if only.
Instead of having abs for days, we can marvel at the masterpiece 8Pack has designed, built, and overclocked. Not only is this gaming PC an absolute beauty to look at, but it is chock-full of high-end hardware that has been carefully curated to enable cohesive and flawless performance. Just check out what Ian “8Pack” Parry has packed into the Infin8 ABS.

Juicy Details
With the award-winning Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero at the heart of this build, there is support for all the latest hardware thanks to PCIe 4.0, SATA, and M.2 ports. The RTX 30 Series GPU and overclocked AMD Ryzen 9 5900X processor grant the ABS incredible speed which will, in turn, facilitate buttery smooth gaming with incredible visuals. What’s more, the Team Group 8Pack Edition DDR4 RAM provides fast fetch rates with tight timings. 8Pack’s name is on it, after all. As standard, it is a 32GB solution, but the memory capacity can be increased up to 128GB which is especially useful for content creation.
Whilst we may have previously established that WD Blue SSDs are pukka for gaming, the WD Black SN850 beautifully fits the look and still offers that coveted balance between speed and bytes. The model chosen for the ABS grants you a full terabyte of storage to hold all your gaming titles, media files, and moody pictures of this amazing PC.
With its Asus ROG Thor 850W Platinum PSU, this gaming PC will operate at a 90% efficiency rating when at half load. Not only is this excellent for the Infin8 ABS performance, but your energy bills will thank you for it, too.
All the components and features of the Infin8 ABS can be configured to suit your specification. Fancy upgrading the GPU from a 3080 to a 3090? Do it. Prefer the Ryzen 9 5950X? Go for it. Fancy changing the illumination to a full rainbow of RGB? While I can’t promise 8Pack won’t be round to have words, you can certainly make the change! Just remember, any changes will have an effect on the price and lead time.
Powerful Performance
Ok, time for the juicy stuff. Performance. In his interview with Briony, 8Pack details how extensively he has benchmarked and tested the Infin8 ABS to ensure it meets his high standard. As a result, we have a gaming PC that is perfect for upcoming games like Battlefield 2042 and Forza Horizon 5 or recent releases like Far Cry 6. For more info on these results, I’ll leave it to the big man – time stamp 14:37.
As for the overclocking, 8Pack has taken a slightly different approach to getting the best all-around performance out of the Infin8 ABS, whether you are gaming or creating content. A unique feature of the Asus ROG Dark Hero motherboard is that it boasts the feature OC Switcher. A real game-changer, this allows you to overclock the CPU with AMD’s PBO2 whilst taking advantage of the more traditional static overclock. As a result, the ABS can automatically switch between the two types of overclocking, depending on the workload.
I’ll break it down further. Utilising PBO2 is better for lower workloads. You can achieve up to a 5.2GHz boost with this programme, but with heavier workloads this drops to around the 4.4GHz mark. However, switching to the static overclock for heavier workloads means your speeds will stay at that 5.2GHz rate. With the Infin8 ABS, you can achieve the best performance regardless of what the task may be. All you need to do is turn this feature on in the BIOS.
Of course, feel free to watch the whole video. Full of juicy close-ups, Ian goes into great detail about this passion project, how all the hardware came together, and how it all benefits the gaming performance.
Moody Looks
Of course, we can’t talk about the Infin8 ABS without addressing just how amazing it looks. The black, brushed finish of the Fractal Design Define 7 mid-tower makes this the perfect chassis for hosting a moody, all-black aesthetic. Even the tempered glass comes tinted. Instead of including all the colours, this simple, understated black theme with white lighting for highlights is classic yet fresh. Plus, the OcUK TechForge Lightbox throws the interior into fantastic contrast – truly lighting up all that high-end hardware.
Even the water-cooling loop matches, with its matte black hard piping from the Corsair Hydro X range. Other elements from the thermal system are from EK Water Blocks, including a specially picked out distro-plate that features white LEDs – just further boosting that stylish aesthetic. So, we have established that the water-cooling loop looks good, but how well does it work? Simply put, this thermal solution is so efficient that the Infin8 ABS is able to be extensively overclocked and still remain at optimum temperatures.
Tasty.
