Previously a PlayStation exclusive, we can finally get God of War Ragnarök onto our high-performance gaming PCs, complete with features to enhance the experience. So, get ready to continue the adventure with Kratos and Atreus, as we check out the gameplay, PC port features, official specifications, and, of course, the best PCs to play.
God of War Ragnarök Gameplay
Following on from the 2018 God of War hit, Fimbulwinter is well underway. Kratos and Atreus must take their heartfelt journey across the whole Nine Realms in search of answers. Meanwhile, Odin is amassing forces for Ragnarök, a prophesied battle that will end the world.
The Norse Saga Continues
God of War Ragnarök brings us the gameplay, visuals, and combat that we love from the series and somehow makes it even better. While the storyline deals with themes of destiny, family, and fear of repeating the same mistakes, we are presented with a feast for the eyes.
The Nine Realms are cinematic landscapes filled with all manner of mythical Norse beasts and fearsome foes. Combat is fluid and expressive, as you wield familiar weaponry such as the Leviathan Axes, Blades of Chaos, and Guardian Shield. The Valhalla DLC is included, and this introduces roguelite elements for a fresh take on combat.
As you venture deeper into the story, Kratos’ deadly Spartan skills will be put to the test like never before.
God of War Ragnarök PC Features
With porting to PC, God of War Ragnarök has a whole bunch of PC exclusive features to enhance your experience. If your gaming PC has the right hardware and peripherals, you can enjoy unlocked frame rates and up to 4K resolutions. Even in panoramic views, too, as you can play God of War Ragnarök in 21:9 ultrawide and 32:9 super ultra-widescreen aspect ratios. Seriously, the Nine Realms never looked this good.
What’s more, there is extensive support for NVIDIA and AMD graphics technology, including ray tracing and AI-upscaling. In fact, there is full integration for NVIDIA DLSS 3.7, AMD FSR 3.1, and Intel XeSS 1.2! Plus, NVIDIA Reflex facilitates responsive gameplay, letting you hit harder and react quicker in the graphic combat.
As it was originally a PlayStation game, DualShock 4 and DualSense controller support is baked into the game. Enjoy immersive gameplay with haptic feedback and adaptive trigger functionality. For the audiophiles, when you play using an analog or USB headset, you can enjoy 3D spatial sound and feel the combat all around you. (And let’s face it, Christopher Judge’s deep voice deserves drivers that can handle all that bass.)

God of War Ragnarök is a singleplayer adventure. No multiplayer gameplay is supported.

God of War Ragnarök Platforms
God of War Ragnarök was originally only available to play on PlayStation 4 and PS5. You can now play it on PC via Steam or Epic Games. The PC version includes the God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla DLC as standard.

God of War Rumour Mill
We’d be remiss to talk about God of War Ragnarök and not mention the rumours swirling back in August. Santa Monica Studio, God of War developers, has recently been on a hiring spree, which points towards a new game. It is unclear whether it is God of War 6 or a new sci-fi IP being worked on (maybe both! Both is good), but it’s certainly exciting news! With Kratos and Atreus’ next adventure hinted at in the Valhalla DLC, we are hopeful that this adventure won’t be ending any time soon.
