Golden Lap is the upcoming release from the little Canadian indie game company Funselektor, creators of Art of Rally and Absolute Drift.
Continuing with the theme of their past two games, Golden Lap is a racing management game set during the Golden Era of motorsport. You will build your team and try to take the title in a fast paced and quick-thinking environment.

Golden Lap Gameplay
Dominate the toughest racing tournament from behind the scenes. As the manager, you choose from a list of ten fictionally iconic racing teams, to battle it out and win the championship. Will you go for the decorated veterans who’ve been racing for years, or the scrappy up-and-comers trying to make it in the big leagues?
From hot-headed young blood to ageing stars trying for one last win, you can build your team and pick who will best suit your personal style. The team is completed with a chief engineer, to keep the tyres turning and engines running smoothly. Plus, your sponsor will be the one who’ll keep the money rolling in, so it’s best to get the results they want to see!
Start Your Engines and Get into the Race
Begin your race weekend with qualifying, testing your car, and fine tuning it to fit each track exactly by choosing to improve your speed, acceleration, or handling. All to get the best time and start at pole position. Be careful not to over tune it, or you might end up hurting your performance and chance at that prized position.
Now comes race day and, with it, the hardest part of managing the team – before the race even starts! Was your qualifying round good enough to get a spot high in the positions? Did your young hot head party too hard the night before? Then there’s choosing the right tyres. It’s going to be a long race, but you don’t want to lose speed going for durable wheels. Will you shoot for an early lead and an early pit? Or are you the slow and steady type?
Lights out and the race is on. The car is ready, and you have to choose how your drivers will go – should they have a heavy foot or keep a steady pace? As the race progresses anything can happen, so you best be ready. The cars are getting safer but that doesn’t mean that crashes can’t happen, and these can be deadly.
Is that a storm overhead?! Be prepared to call an emergency pitstop or a change in strategy to keep those tyres fresh. Then let loose and tear up some rubber.

Now the race is over, and you’ve just won the Circuit De Casino Grand Prix! Your sponsor will award you with money – maybe more than expected if they’re happy with your performance. This can be invested straight back into the car, to make improvements for the next race and keep it at top form.
