Guest Review: Shockbyte Servers

Tired of peer to peer hosting or chugging along with your RAM being syphoned to run a Minecraft server? Shockbyte has the tools to quickly and easily host a server and get you and your friends online.

We got our hands on a copy of Shockbyte to review their brand-new Control Panel feature. Keep on reading to see what we thought!

Shockbyte Servers

Shockbyte is a server hosting service which supports over 45 games. From Minecraft to CounterStrike to Ark, you can find a wide variety of games supported in this easy-to-use server hosting platform.

Control Panel

The new Control Panel will allow you to easily create, manage, and update your servers with the press of a button. Installing plugins and sorting through files has even been simplified, allowing you to drag and drop whatever you need into your servers. Offering a plugin finder, getting the perfect plugins is as easy as finding, clicking, and playing. With added search features like sorting and category listings, you can find all these and more via the plugin hub on the Control Panel. Whether this is making performance improvements, RPG mechanics, or even better server moderation.

Resource Usage

Speaking of moderation, the overview section makes it so much easier to see the important stats your server is using. Console commands, CPU usage, and active player lists (plus more!) allow you to keep track of everything that goes on in your server as it happens. All from the comfort of your browser.

Easy-to-Use File Management

Full control is in your hands, if you’ve found a cool mod that you want to add directly, you can easily add or remove any files in the server using the new online file explorer. This is perfect for anyone new to server hosting and modding. The more experienced can also connect to your server’s File Transfer Protocol for more direct access to your files.

Different Versions

Shockbyte also offers the ability to create instances for your game allowing you to operate a different version of your server. You can easily switch from one world to the next, without having to lose anything from your previous world and still keep the same IP address as before.

Final Thoughts

My friends and I have been using Shockbyte to host our Minecraft server for over 3 years now and I’m very excited to see the changes coming to the Control Panel. It will offer us more usability and information about the server we’ve cherished for years, and I can’t wait to see what other features will be added in the future and to check out their support for other games.
