Sonic x Shadow Generations is a remaster of Sonic Generations, bringing both classic and modern Sonic gameplay. On top of this, there is a brand-new Shadow campaign with never-before-seen abilities to explore and master. That’s two unique experiences in one high-speed game! Sonic x Shadow Generations Gameplay
Developed by Sonic Team and published by SEGA, Sonic x Shadow Generations is a little of something old and a little of something new. It is a remaster of the highly acclaimed Sonic Generations, and it comes with an extra Shadow campaign. All the high-speed action you could need in one game!
Classic and Modern Sonic
With both Sonic Generations and the new Shadow campaign, there is plenty to sink your teeth into with Sonic x Shadow Generations.
Sonic Generations has updated visuals, reworked cinematics, and new bonus content to explore, with iconic 2D and 3D stages to speed your way through. Dr Eggman has teamed up with his past self and the mysterious Time Eater, in an effort to erase past defeats and alter the course of history. Sonic and his friends are scattered across time and space – so it’s up to Modern and Classic Sonic to team up and save the day!
The Shadow campaign is a brand-new story. Shadow’s nemesis, Black Doom, is threatening to take over the world, and Shadow must journey to his past to unlock dark new powers. Surf on water, fly over obstacles, and even stop time with Chaos Control! Speed your way through mind-bending stages and some of Shadow’s signature levels from other games, as you piece together the timeline to thwart Black Doom’s plan and prove why Shadow is the Ultimate Life Form. What’s more, taking inspiration from Sonic Frontiers, there is an all-new world hub to explore with secrets to discover as you unlock new powers.

As well as essentially being two games in one, Sonic x Shadow Generations has a whole bunch of extra content and collectables. Chao are hiding in every level just waiting to be rescued, game in the Casino Nights Zone and get the high score on the pinball machine, and there is even a museum chock-full of behind-the-scenes art, music, and more.
Sonic x Shadow Generations Platforms
Sonic x Shadow Generations will be available on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
It is a single player adventure, so there is no support for crossplay. You can still share the fun via stream!

Sonic x Shadow Generations Release Date
Sonic x Shadow Generations will be available to play from October 25th 2024. If you have pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition, you get three days exclusive early access.
