What’s the Difference Between the Model O 2 PRO and Model D 2 PRO?

Whilst they share the same core technology, there are few differences between the Model O 2 PRO and the Model D 2 PRO. Here’s a nice quick breakdown for you:

Model O 2 PRO

  • Crafted for gamers who prefer ergonomic gaming mice

The differences are subtle, and largely cater for the different requirements you may seek in a mouse. Whichever mouse you go for, it will be backed with the high-performance tech you need for that competitive edge.

What Do They Have in Common?

Now for the spicy stuff! Each of these gaming mice utilise a Glorious BAMF 2.0 optical sensor, with a maximum of 26,000 DPI. That’s some top-quality precision, right there. This can be adjusted with the dedicated DPI switch, allowing you to toggle through pre-set levels to suit your needs.

Enhancing your quick-fire trigger, the main buttons are equipped with optical sensors. These have a low input time to increase responsiveness. You’ll be the quickest on the draw! In total, there are six buttons on the Model O 2 PRO and Model D 2 PRO, which can each be remapped to fit your playstyle. There are two main, two side, one scroll, and one DPI button at your disposal.

What’s more, these are wireless gaming mice with a battery life of up to 80 hours. They connect via a 2.4GHz wireless receiver, and the 1K Editions include an extender, too. Alternatively, when battery runs low, you can plug in via the USB Type-A to Type-C paracord charging cable that is included within the scope of delivery. Either way, you can enjoy consistent and reliable performance.

What’s In A Polling Rate?

Of course, the other major difference between the available models are their polling rates. The 1K Edition has a fixed polling rate of 1,000Hz. For the 4K/8K Edition, you can choose between four polling rates. Game with a 1K, 2K, 4K, or 8K (wired only) polling rate, to supercharge your gaming performance. This does come a price though, using the 4K polling rate reduces battery life to 35 hours.

What even is a polling rate? This is how many times a second your mouse reports its position to your gaming PC. The bigger the number, the more times it reports, the faster and more accurate your cursor will be. For example, a 1,000Hz polling rate reports a thousand times a second, whereas a 4K polling rate sends this information four thousand times. Having a higher polling rate can give you an advantage in competitive play, if your skills are up to the test!
