IceGiant ProSiphon Elite

Gravity Falls

So, how have IceGiant integrated thermosiphon cooling into the ProSiphon Elite? Essentially, it’s the result of an intelligently engineered custom condenser.

At the contact point between the ProSiphon and CPU, liquid dielectric collects when no excess heat is present. However, as the CPU’s temperature rises, this liquid evaporates and takes with it the excess heat. Meanwhile, PWM fans attached to the edges of the condenser spin to reduce the evaporated dielectric’s temperature until it reverts to a liquid form. At which point, gravity draws the liquid back down to the contact point with the CPU.

This ingenious technique has several advantages. First, it provides outstanding cooling, comparable to what a bespoke water cooling loop can achieve. The benefits double whilst being at an overall lower price point and being comparatively easy to set up. Although the IceGiant is something of a chonky boi, it’s much more compact than commercial thermosiphon systems, and can be attached in essentially the same manner as most air CPU coolers.

The second advantage is that the ProSiphon Elite’s condenser has no moving parts. This means it is significantly more durable than other cooling systems, especially custom water loops. In fact, IceGiant are so confident regarding the ProSiphon’s longevity, that they even include a ten-year warranty.

IceGiant’s commitment to quality extends to all components included with the ProSiphon Elite. As mentioned, there are four 120mm PWM fans, this cooler includes bracket and screws to ensure compatibility with most modern AMD and Intel CPUs. Also included in the package is Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut paste. A favourite among enthusiasts, the Kryonaut paste will maintain there is a strong connection between your CPU and ProSiphon Elite.
