We are back with our monthly Indie Showcase, where we pick one of the many recently produced gems by independent game developers and make sure it gets some well-deserved time in the sun. For November, we are taking a closer look at the mythical… Ravenswatch!
What is Ravenswatch?
Ravenswatch is a roguelike action game from Passtech Games and Nacon, taking a darker look at the folk tales and legends we know and love. Building on the success of their previous title, Curse of the Dead Gods, Ravenswatch provides outstanding replayability, in both solo and up to four player co-op.
You play as one of nine iconic heroes from folklore, but with a darker, more violent side. The characters include Red Riding Hood, who has been cursed with lycanthropy, the fallen monkey king Sun Wukong, Beowulf, and even the Pied Piper. Each brings their own twist to gameplay and will shed new light on the story, making each playthrough unique and different.
But what is your quest? You must banish the Nightmare that is invading Reverie, the world of dreams. It is corrupting everything in its wake, leaving fearsome foes to fight in nerve-racking battle. There are three open maps to explore, inspired by One Thousand and One Nights, Arthurian legends, and enchanted forests and marshes, with plenty of familiar folklore faces, like the Three Little Pigs and Sinbad, to help along the way.
