For its foundation, the Infin8 Hunter MK2 utilises a Gigabyte Z490 Aorus Extreme Motherboard. Armed with PCIe 5.0 and DDR5, this motherboard is future-proofed and already supporting the very latest innovations. This even includes twelfth generation Alder Lake CPUs, which leads me to my next point rather nicely.
The Infin8 Hunter MK2 is equipped with an Intel Core i9-12900KS, that has been pre-binned to optimise performance. This special edition processor has sixteen cores and twenty-four threads. The cores are evenly balanced between P- and E-cores, being able to reach frequencies up to 5.1GHz and 4.0GHz, respectively. Enjoy nothing but blinding speeds with this CPU!
A true, flagship-class GPU, the Infin8 Hunter MK2 harnesses the graphical prowess of a Gigabyte Aorus GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Master. With 12GB of GDDR6X memory, second-gen ray-tracing, and third-gen Tensor cores at its disposal, this graphics card can render your games at stunning resolutions and high frame rates. 4K video editing, 3D rendering, VR gaming – all a breeze for this absolute titan. As standard, the Infin8 Hunter MK2 has two M.2 NVMe SSDs at its disposal. These are both Samsung 970 EVO SSDs, at 1TB and 2TB, which boast incredibly fast read and write speeds. Enjoy reduced boot times, shorter loading screens, and enough storage to hold all your games, media, and files. Plus, there are flexible storage options available, should you require more terabytes.
Keeping the Hunter Cool
One of our favourite features on the original Hunter was, of course, its water-cooling system. The Infin8 Hunter MK2 has taken all the best features and made them even better, to create something that is truly a work of art.
The components utilised within this monster gaming PC are from trusted brands, including Phanteks, Corsair, and EK Water Blocks – all premium-grade hardware. The system is fuelled by two D5 pumps that double up as reservoirs. D5 pumps were chosen for their reliable flow, consistently pushing the coloured coolant throughout their hard-tubing loops. Both the CPU and GPU have dedicated water blocks to draw away heat, which is then vented through either one of the two radiators. The 360mm, triple-fan radiator is mounted to the chassis ceiling, whilst the 480mm, quad-fan model is installed in the second chamber.
Paired with the eight Noctua High-Perofrmance PWM 120mm fans, the Infin8 Hunter MK2 has a phenomenally efficient thermal solution. Plus, the with addition of PWM fans and the Aqua Computer Aquero 6 LT controller, you can adjust the fan speeds to suit different workloads.
The Hunter Look
As part of the Infin8 line-up, the Hunter MK2 needed a bold aesthetic. Its predecessor set the bar high. This second-generation model certainly lives up to the Infin8 standard and then some. Already an absolute beauty, the water-cooling system is highlighted by RGB lighting, both by integrated LEDs on hardware and by the included RGB accessories.
The distribution plates have been redesigned to have LED lighting follow each loop, illuminating its route in a futuristic circuit-style design. Plus, with the crisp white and azure blue coolants, the Infin8 Hunter MK2’s aesthetic really pops.
