As the latest competitor to NVIDIA and AMD, Overclockers UK are here to tell you everything we know about Intel XeSS. We’ll be showcasing what it is, what games are supported, and where you can shop all Intel ARC graphics cards.
Next-Generation Upscaler
Intel’s line up of GPUs feature support for XeSS (Xe Super Sampling) a brand new upscaling technology. Designed to take your gaming to the next level, thanks to AI-enhanced upscaling to enable high image fidelity and boosted output resolutions. This means you can sit back and enjoy gaming at maximum performance, without increasing GPU loads.
An important feature to mention is Intel has suggested that XeSS will be available on both its own Intel Arc GPUs and their own integrated GPUs and competitor’s graphics cards. If your NVIDIA or AMD GPU supports the DP4a format – you will be able to enjoy Intel’s enhanced AI technology.
What are the Differences Between XeSS, DLSS and FSR?
NVIDIA DLSS
Similar to Intel Arc, NVIDIA’s DLSS utilises AI technology. This results in higher image quality and smooth frame rates. However, DLSS requires the latest NVIDIA hardware to work, such as the 3060 series of GPUs.
AMD FSR
On the other hand, AMD FSR doesn’t require AMD only hardware. However, FSR does not utilise AI-enhanced and instead features a spatial upscaling technology.
