This product drop from Kolink includes bold styling, ample airflow, and innovative support. Aka, everything you want from a mid-tower PC case and GPU bracket. Read on to learn the ins and outs of this fabulous gaming hardware.

Observatory MX and Core Pro

The Kolink Observatory MX Series consists of six PC cases. You can choose between a Glass ARGB or Mesh ARGB edition, which have either a glass or mesh front panel. Each is available in three colours: black, white, and black and white. With their tempered glass side panel, two-tone finish, and ARGB fans, you can’t go wrong with any of these cases! The Kolink Core Pro Aluminium Infinity Mirror GPU Support is available in black, but the ARGB lighting with an infinity mirror effect is what truly steals the show.

Observatory MX

The Kolink Observatory MX is a mid-tower PC case that balances aesthetics, cooling, and hardware support. The half-hinged tempered glass side panel grants easy access into the main chamber, simplifying installation. For your gaming hardware, this chamber can accommodate an ATX motherboard with seven expansion slots to support your PCIe devices. There is 330mm clearance for graphics card and ample mounts for cooling components, which we shall get to shortly.

The second chamber is a dedicated PSU shroud. This can support power supplies up to 180mm long and also houses the drive cage. There are four bays in total, with two holding either 2.5” or 3.5” drives and the other two only supporting 2.5” SSDs. Whilst they accommodate the same hardware, the PSU shroud differs between the Glass and Mesh models.

Glass vs Mesh

There are a couple key differences between the Glass and Mesh editions of these PC cases.

The Observatory MX Glass has a glass front panel with side mesh ventilation to support the airflow. To bolster this further, the PSU shroud is also formed of mesh panelling, ensuring all your hardware has access to plenty of cool air.

The Observatory MX Mesh, understandably, has a mesh front panel. To keep aesthetics sleek, the PSU shroud is, instead, made of solid steel panels, as the front already provides ample airflow.

Keeping Cool

There is plenty of mesh panelling across both models to provide natural airflow. To boost out-of-the-box cooling, each Kolink Observatory MX comes with five pre-installed Kolink Umbra ARGB fans. There are two 140mm models on the front panel and three 120mm fans split across the top and rear. Of course, there are alternative configurations with different fans and radiators to explore. They are as follows:

Top2 x 120mmN/A
Rear1 x 120mm120mm
PSU Shroud2 x 120mmN/A

Thanks to this varied support, you can craft an efficient thermal solution using air or water-cooling. Plus, there is 160mm clearance for a CPU cooler.

The Kolink Core Pro GPU Support does exactly what it says on the tin. It is an anodised aluminium support bracket designed to be used with heavy graphics cards. It can even support two GPUs, at a maximum height of 170mm! Better yet, you can adjust the height of this bracket to best fit your graphics card and it’s easy to place thanks to the 3M adhesive sticker.
