As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Harry Potter series with the release of the HBO special, Overclockers UK has decided to give you a teaser on what fans can expect in the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy.

Return to Hogwarts

If you are anything like me, Harry Potter was such a fundamental part of my childhood. Reading the books, spending my Sunday afternoon watching the films, and anxiously waiting for my own letter to Hogwarts.

We can finally return to our beloved fantastical world in Hogwarts Legacy! In development by Portkey Games, this magical RPG will have players take control over a young wizard in the late 19th century. Before the era of Grindelwald, Dumbledore, and Voldemort – Hogwarts Legacy, is all about you and your journey to become a wizarding hero! Possessing the ability to perceive and master the craft of Ancient Magic, you must choose whether you will use your talent for good or for evil.

Get sorted and master your classes

A Harry Potter would be incomplete without taking part in some exciting magical classes. We expect our timetables to be full of Defence Against the Dark Arts, Potions, Herbology, Quidditch and much more!

From the trailers, we expect that all of our classes will prepare us to take on dragons, trolls and some other terrifying creatures. The game will have an action-based combat system, but it is yet to be confirmed how you will cast spells or defend yourself.

Magical Open World

Are you ready to experience the magical world of Hogwarts like never before? From the trailers, we can expect to see some form of open-world in Hogwarts Legacy.

However, it’s unclear if this open-world only includes Hogwarts and its grounds or if we can hop on a broom and ride to Hogsmeade or London – I for one, hope it’s the latter!

Can you imagine taking a quick trip to The Three Broomsticks for a Butter Beer in between classes? I should have been a wizard…

When can we expect it to be released?

If you can’t wait to get your hands on this magical RPG – fear not! You might not have long to wait.

Confirmed on the official Twitter page @HogwartsLegacy, the game is set to be released this year. Some rumours are suggesting March, but unfortunately, there is no official release date.

There is no information currently regarding official PC system specifications but the game is set to be available to play on XBOX, PlayStation and PC.
