Webfishing might not be your traditional “LGBTQ+ game” with a full-on narrative, but it’s definitely a space where the community has found its home. This quirky, genre-defying title isn’t about telling one big story, it’s a place where people can just be themselves. Co-opted by the LGBTQ+ community since its release, Webfishing has become a safe haven for anyone seeking a digital space to explore, meet others, and be unapologetically themselves in a queer-coded space.
The developers have fully embraced their found audience, dealing with precisely zero nonsense. In response to complaints from some who felt the game was becoming “too gay,” the developers added a “straight” title to the game, priced at a ridiculous $9,999 Fish Bucks. Webfishing is just one of those games that appeared seemingly out of nowhere and scratched that social itch. Whether you’re there for the connections or the chaos, Webfishing is a unique, queer-friendly haven that’s caught our hearts.
Monster Prom 4: Monster Con
Monster Prom 4: Monster Con looks set to continue the series’ tradition of queer-coded dating sims. In this instalment, we’re set to navigate a monster-filled convention to find a date among six unique monsters. Like its predecessors, Monster Prom celebrates diversity, allowing players to pursue relationships with characters of any gender or orientation. Of Sense and Soul
Transporting players to 1875 London, Of Sense and Soul is a tale of two men, a reserved editorialist and a confirmed bachelor, who meet through a mix-up involving a personal ad. As their paths intertwine, they must confront their own regrets and desires, grappling with the choice between following their hearts or sticking to the status quo. Of Sense and Soul is shaping up to be a genuinely heartwarming visual novel, offering a richly detailed Victorian setting, watercolour-inspired visuals, and a deeply emotional journey filled with introspection and a lot of gay pining.
