Lian Li Edge Gold PSU – Innovating the Innovative

Here at Overclockers UK, we were blown away by the phenomenal Lian Li Edge PSUs when they first came out. Hard to imagine that was back in July 2024. Now if you can believe it, Lian Li has improved on the original design with the Lian Li Edge Gold series.

An Inspired Design

With the original launch, people were caught off guard, due to its unique form factor. However, since then, its innovative L-shape has been shown to be a game changer, especially when used in combination with a dual chamber case.

By turning the power connectors 90-degrees and moving them out from the main body, they are much easier to access. This means you can pre-install your power supply and then route cables after, instead of the classic, plug them all in before you mount. This has made the Edge much more versatile. As such, Lian Li has further improved on the design with the Edge Gold Series.

The Edge Gold comes in a range of power delivery options, from 750W up to 1200W. What’s more, each PSU comes with a full range of premium quality cables, including a 12V-2X6, perfect for powering a high-end NVIDIA GPU. Furthermore, these wires are slightly longer than you’d expect, ensuring compatibility with a range of case layouts.

So, What’s New?

So, what exciting new tweaks have Lian Li made to the Lian Li Edge Gold? Well, how about an industry first. A brand-new combined USB and PWM hub, that can be either be utilised attached directly to the PSU or removed and repositioned elsewhere in your case. You can find the Lian Li Edge Hub packaged alongside the 1200W and 1000W PSUs or sold separately as a stand-alone device.

When attached to the Edge Gold, the hub draws power through a dedicated connector. However, when repositioned away from the power supply, it is instead fed through a PCIe interface.

This hub boasts six 4-pin PWM headers, alongside four USB headers for a total of ten outputs! This allows the hub to support a huge amount of hardware. In fact, with the USB ports capable of delivering a total of 2.5A and the 4-pin connectors supporting 2A each, you’ll easily be able to deliver power to a gaming PC fully decked out with Lian Li Strimer cables and UNI Fans.

Now this hub isn’t the only thing that can be removed from the Lian Li Edge Gold, there is one more component that can easily be removed. To make cleaning the power supply much easier, the dust filter can be effortlessly removed from the power supply. This makes maintaining the Edge Gold far simpler, all without compromising on structural integrity.
