Lian Li has expanded their O11D EVO case range and the UNI FAN Series, with the EVO RGB and UNI FAN TL RGB and LCD. Utilising these amazing products, you’ll be able to build your dream gaming PC, that features a unique aesthetic.
Refining a Classic
The Lian LI O11D EVO RGB case improves on everything that makes the O11D range of cases great. To start with, it’s slightly bigger than the original O11D EVO, with around a centimetre added to each measurement. In fact, the dimensions of the O11D EVO RGB are 471mm x 290mm x 478mm (H x W x D). This small change makes a big difference in terms of hardware support, as this case can now facilitate GPUs 455.7mm long, allowing you to fit a chonky graphics card and still have room to spare.
Much like the other cases in the O11D range, the EVO RGB is a highly adaptable chassis. There are so many ways to customise this case that it has my head spinning. Where to start? How about the fact that you can completely reverse the layout of this chassis. Want your PC on the left side of your desk and still show off that sweet hardware, no problem. More of a righty? Make a couple of easy adjustments and you’re all set, with a computer that looks fantastic from that angle as well.
Not a fan of clutter obstructing your view of your components? No problem. The support pillar pops right out of there, and you don’t even lose any structural stability as the rest of the chassis has been reinforced. This unlocks a panoramic view of your case. Cables can be hidden away, as the EVO RGB features fantastic cable management options. In the rear compartment, the PSU protrudes 15mm outside the case, giving just that extra bit of room to stuff your cables. What’s more, there are plenty of Velcro straps and double layered clips to tame even the wildest cables runs.
You won’t have to worry about not having enough cooling, as this case has space for mounting up to ten fans in total. There are brackets to install up to three 140mm fans in the top, base, and side of the EVO RGB, with an additional 120mm that can be located on the rear panel. What’s more, mounting these fans is very easy, as the brackets for the triple radiators can all be removed. This means you can attach your fans to the brackets, tidy up the cables, and clip the brackets back into place. All without having to try and contort yourself into knots trying to get that last screw in place.
A Fan with a Screen?
Now that I’ve mentioned the O11D EVO RGB’s fantastic support for fans, let’s look at the innovative new range from Lian Li. The Lian Li UNI FAN TL fans come in two styles, RGB and LCD. Yes, as in a physical display you can customise. Check out the specs available in this new range of fans in the table below.

The clever boffins over at Lian Li have managed to squeeze a 1.6″ LCD display on to the hub of the UNI FAN TL LCD. It utilises an IPS panel, with a 400×400 resolution, and a peak brightness of 500 nits, meaning it won’t washed out by your gaming PC’s RGB lighting. Furthermore, with support for SRGB 24-bit full colour, anything output on these screens will be crystal clear.
So, why would you want a display on your fan? Well for one, it looks awesome! But for another, these screens can be used for a wide range of applications. This includes keeping track of your computer’s system information. For example, you can have one that displays your CPU’s temperature, another for your GPU’s load, and a third measuring how fast your fans are spinning.
Now that may be cool to enthusiasts, but you may want to use these screens for something a bit more fun. Never fear, as that’s possible, too. These are your mini screens, and what you choose to show on them is up to you. Thanks to support for JPEG, PNG, GIF, and MP4 files, the choices are near infinite. How about displaying pictures of your favourite pets, family, or friends? Got a sick clip captured from in game? Sure, throw that on one of these babies. Want to have a fun little animation? No problem, simply stretch a GIF across multiple screens. You can have anything from a rocket launching into space to Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde chasing Pac-Man around!
Everything RGB
Alongside the amazing screens, these fans share the same gorgeous RGB lighting with the UNI FAN TL RGB. Each feature four RGB strips along the top and bottom edges of the fan, which also wrap around the anti-vibration pads. Nestled between the light strips, they boast two infinity mirrors, on either side. To create the fantastic lighting for all this RGB, the Lian Li UNI FAN TL utilise 26 vibrant LEDs. Plus, it has dual-zone lighting, meaning you can control each side separately. This allows you to create unique effects.
To complete the RGB package, I’m going to come back to the O11D EVO RGB. The EVO RGB features two 1.5mm thick L-shaped RGB strips. These are positioned along the top and bottom of the case and frame the tempered glass panels of the case for a subtle lighting effect.
Controlling all this beautiful lighting is easy. The lighting strips on the EVO RGB can be adjusted via a series of switches on the case, with two buttons to control the lighting mode, another to control the colour, and a fourth that adjusts the brightness. However, you can also control this lighting alongside the fan’s RGB and LCD screens through Lian Li L-Connect 3 software. In this program, you can find multiple options for adjusting everything from lighting effects to fan speeds, and even what to display on your fan screens.
But Wait, There’s More!
Not only has Lian Li released a fantastic case and a unique range of fans, but they also have a bunch of accessories to accompany them. Maybe you want to display your GPU in all its glory inside the O11D EVO RGB? Well, Lian Li has both a vertical mounting bracket and an upright bracket, which let you reposition your graphics card within the chassis.
Worried that your graphics card won’t work as well, if it’s not directly connected to your motherboard? Fear no more, as with the Lian Li PCIe 4.0 Riser cables you can get almost the same performance from your GPU as if it was directly mounted. With both a 600mm and 900mm model available, you can install your graphics card practically anywhere inside your case.
