Looking for a versatile PC case that supports high-end hardware in a range of configurations? The Lian Li V3000 Plus is back and more flexible than ever!
The Lian Li V3000 Plus can be set in one of three modes, Standard, Rotated, and Dual System. Each brings incredible support for premium components, cooling hardware, and unique layouts suited for different needs. Accented by subtle yet striking RGB lighting, this full tower chassis is perfect for creating an absolute showstopping gaming PC. (PCs if you go Dual!)
V3000 Plus Modes
The Lian Li V3000 Plus can be set in one of three modes, Standard, Rotated, and Dual System. These modes present different benefits and features ideally suited for a variety of builds. Rotate your motherboard and make the GPU the centrepiece of your build. Create the ultimate streaming machine with a two-in-one PC that runs the game and stream on different systems all from one build. Or perhaps makes something a little more traditional with the clearance for next-gen hardware.
Standard Mode
Standard Mode utilises the layout we’ve all come to know and love. The motherboard mounted to the left of the main chamber of the case, I/O at the rear, plenty of space for all the hardware you could wish for, all pretty traditional stuff. With this mode, however, you will have amazing clearance for hardware – barely any limitations. Motherboards can be accommodated up to E-ATX in form factor and the 589mm clearance is more than enough for the chonkiest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series graphics card.
For cooling, the Standard Mode can host up to sixteen fans in a variety of sizes. The maximum number of fans fit as follows: four 120mm fans on the front, top, and within the PSU shroud, three 120mm or 140mm fans above the power supply’s dedicated chamber, and a singular fan of either size on the rear panel. These fan mounts support both 120mm and 140mm fans, with size affecting the number that can be installed. What’s more, the front panel can even host two 200mm fans if you wanted something a little out of the ordinary. Alternatively, these mounts can accommodate up to four radiators of matching sizes.
Rotated Mode
Rotated mode is a simple yet striking adjustment. The motherboard tray, and other supporting structures, can be removed, rotated ninety degrees anticlockwise, and reinstalled within this case. This puts the rear I/O panel in the PSU shroud and creates a bold, unique layout for your gaming PC. At the centre will be your graphics card, with 358mm clearance to accommodate for many models currently available. This central position also puts your GPU right in the airflow channels, drawing fresh air from the front across the hardware and venting the warm currents out of the back. Cool in both senses of the word!
As so much focus on this mode is about keeping the Lian Li V3000 Plus cool, you can install up to fifteen fans or four radiators. Due to the positioning of the motherboard, fans cannot be placed on top of the PSU shroud. Instead, there is now space for up to three 120mm or 140mm fans or a 360mm radiator on the rear panel. The top, front, and PSU shroud can hold the same number of fans as the Standard Mode.
A separate riser cable is required to vertically mount the GPU.
Dual System Mode
Dual System Mode allows you to install two separate computers within one chassis. You can even independently control them via the I/O panel on the top. Denoted by “S1” and “S2”, there are dedicated power buttons, USB ports, and audio jacks for each system. But how do you fit two PCs in one? Once again, the motherboard tray can be manoeuvred to suit. There is a removable spacer plate at the rear of the case, with this taken out you can raise the motherboard tray by a few centimetres. The main tray can still support up to E-ATX motherboards and now there is space below for a Mini-ITX model!
Two systems require two power supplies. The PSU shroud easily holds an ATX power supply, for all three modes, with space to spare for a second SFX or SFX-L unit stacked on top. Easy peasy. There is even enough cable routing included on the back of the motherboard tray for both systems. The rubber grommets securely feed cables through to the front whilst the six Velcro straps hold everything in place.
To cool your snazzy double PC, there are once again up to fifteen fans or four radiators at your disposal. The front and top panel mounting options remain unchanged. The PSU shroud can still hold up to four fans, but installing a GPU on the second system will not allow space for a radiator. Above the PSU shroud can host up to two fans or a radiator of corresponding size, whilst the rear panel holds a singular 120mm or 140mm fan.
Maximum Cooling
As the Lian Li V3000 Plus can support a wide range of powerful components, it needs a thermal solution to match. In addition to the exceptional fan and radiator options, this full tower chassis is primed for custom water-cooling loops. All enhanced by the natural airflow provided by the stylish mesh panelling.
In Standard Mode, there are two mounting points, ideal for D5 combo pump reservoirs. The first places the pump above the PSU shroud to the right of the motherboard tray. This has 275mm clearance, suiting a wide range of components. Alternatively, you can remove the first bracket and mount the pump within the power supply chamber, adding 70mm extra clearance and bringing the total height available to 345mm.
Finishing Touches
Whichever configuration you utilise, there is phenomenal support for storage. The Lian Li V3000 Plus is able to hold up to an incredible sixteen storage drives! Four 2.5″ SSDs can be housed on the back of the motherboard tray. Held in place with a secure spring lock, the brackets have a tool-free design to make installation even easier. A further four SSDs can be installed in the main chamber, on dedicated plates.
Finally, there are two drive cages in the PSU shroud that can hold either four 2.5” SSDs or four 3.5” HDDs. Install one or both! This flexibility allows you to create more space in the shroud, should you need it for pumps or other hardware. Equally, you can maximise on storage and have all the bytes you’d ever need. What’s more, you could even remove the SSD plates from next to the motherboard, and stack the drive cages there instead.
Finally, the Lian Li V3000 Plus is accented by some subtle lighting features. The front panel includes a fine strip of addressable LEDs, which can be controlled by the “M” and “C” buttons on the top I/O. M scrolls through effects whilst C changes the colours. Alternatively, the lighting can be connected to your motherboard and controlled via software. Underneath the LED strip is a small projector that shines the Lian Li logo onto the surface below, adding a futuristic touch to this classic black chassis. Toggle on and off utilising the small button placed on the underside to the left.
