Every NVIDIA graphic card comes equipped with plenty of cutting-edge features, designed for gamers, streamers, and content creators. This list of integrated hardware is pretty comprehensive and that’s why we created our blog series titled, ‘NVIDIA Inside Look’, to take a closer look at all their ground-breaking tech.

In this post we’ll be taking a deep dive into NVIDIA GeForce Now, detailing what it is, compatible games, and how GeForce Now can enhance your gaming performance.

What is NVIDIA GeForce Now?

GeForce Now is NVIDIA’s own cloud-based gaming service. Through NVIDIA GeForce Now you get full access to a virtual computer where you can play your favourites games hosted and streamed over the internet.

GeForce Now utilises over twenty different data centres spread across the world, connecting you to the one that is closest to ensure you get the best possible performance. The games that you can play are run on high-end NVIDIA graphics cards that are compatible with all the latest tech, such as Ray Tracing and AI DLSS 3.5. What specs your PC has won’t impact the game’s performance or graphics.

Membership Tiers:

GeForce Now is split into three membership options, including:

  • Free – There’s no cost. You can play any of the compatible games on a ‘basic’ PC for up to an hour. In the free tier, you may also have to wait in a queue.
  • Priority – Costs £9.99* a month. Gives you extended playtimes of up to six hours, priority access, and the games are played on RTX compatible systems.
  • Ultimate – The highest tier available and costs £19.99* a month. Ultimate members unlock up to eight hours of playtime and access to servers running games on RTX 4080 GPUs.

Compatible NVIDIA GeForce Now Games:

Some games are pre-installed on these PCs, so you might not even have to wait for your favourite game to install. However, not all games are supported by NVIDIA GeForce Now, but a few of our favourite compatible games include:

What Hardware Do I Need for NVIDIA GeForce Now?

Alongside a membership, NVIDIA has some basic hardware requirements for NVIDIA GeForce Now.

First up, you need 64-bit version of Windows 7 or higher. What’s more, it needs an internet connection with at least 15Mbps for gaming at 60FPS at 720p or 25Mbps for 60FPS at 1080p, in addition to a minimum of 80ms latency.

To help you figure out if your internet connection is strong enough, GeForce includes a built-in network tester. The network tester is included in any membership and will perform a variety of tests on your internet to determine whether you have an optimal network for playing games via GeForce Now.

In addition to a strong internet connection, if you are playing games on GeForce Now via a PC or laptop, it will need this hardware as a minimum.

  • A Dual core x86-64 CPU with 2.0GHz or higher
  • 4GB of RAM
  • A dedicated GPU that supports DirectX Version 11. E.g., NVIDIA GeForce 600 Series, AMD Radeon HD 3000 Series, Intel HD Graphics 2000 Series, or newer.

Why is NVIDIA GeForce Now Good for Gaming?

NVIDIA GeForce Now is the ultimate choice for gamers.

With GeForce Now you can take advantage of the latest generation of tech, without having to pay for said tech yourself. GeForce Now allows you to experience all your favourite games rendered in incredible quality and harness silky-smooth frame rates for a more optimised experience. It is the perfect choice for those who are perhaps saving up the pennies for that much-needed upgrade but are far too impatient to wait any longer to play their games with Ray Tracing and AI DLSS enabled.

Speaking of saving pennies, GeForce Now has been tailored to suit every type of gamer, regardless of their budget. Those with limited funds can still enjoy playing their favourite games in stunning quality. You aren’t limited by what’s in your wallet.

In addition to all of this, thanks to compatibility with a range of devices including mobiles, laptops, and even TVs (yes, you heard me right, TVs), you can transform virtually any device into the high-powered gaming PC you’ve always dreamt of.
