Graphics cards come in all shapes and sizes, meaning we’re often left scratching our heads at what dimensions we have or what case clearance we need, especially if you want to create a sleek, but space saving small form factor (SFF) powerhouse.

Thankfully, NVIDIA is set to revolutionise our SFF gaming PCs with their new line-up of SFF-ready GeForce GPUs. We’re here with all the details you need to know.

What are SFF Graphics Cards?

NVIDIA SFF GPUs will boast extensive compatibility with most modern-day SFF PC cases. It’ll be easy to spot if your GPU or case supports this form factor, with product pages being updated to mention ‘SFF-Ready Enthusiast GeForce Cards’ or ‘Compatible with SFF-Ready Enthusiast GeForce Cards’.

Whilst these GPUs may be small, they certainly pack the same punch as their counterparts. You’ll be able to find RTX 4070 or higher SFF-Ready GeForce GPUs. Each model will typically feature the same dimensions. This includes:

  • 151mm maximum height including power cable bend radius
  • 304mm maximum length
  • 50mm or 2.5 slots maximum depth

All of which ensures you’ll have plenty of space and clearance within your PC case to facilitate natural airflow and optimum temperatures.

What Case Do You Need for an SFF GPU?

To fully utilise NVIDIA’s SFF-Ready GeForce GPUs, you’ll need to ensure you have a compatible case. SFF-Ready GeForce PC Cases feature plenty of space to accommodate these graphics cards and often include a bundled power connector and any other necessary accessories.

For your PC case to be compatible with an SFF GPU, it needs to meet a specific set of criteria. This includes:

  • A total of 154.5mm clearance from either the motherboard or riser PCB to the side or top panel (depending on GPU orientation)
  • Clearance of 312mm in length. This includes the GPU and any extenders.
