As April 20^th marks lookalike day, here at Overclockers UK we can’t think of a better day to celebrate our top 5 favourite celebrity video game doppelgangers!

Duke Nukem 3D – Duke Nukem (Arnold Schwarzenegger):

First released in 1996, Duke Nukem 3D is a fan-favourite FPS that follows the extra-terrestrial adventure of Duke Nukem. Your mission is to fight off the nail-biting alien invasion that has attacked planet Earth. Players take control of the titular character, Duke Nukem, who just happens to look like a very familiar 90’s actor…

The resemblance is uncanny… The game even takes inspiration from some of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s infamous films. Duke just so happens to say ‘Hasta la vista baby’ after he kills his enemies.

The Last of Us – Robert (Jerome Flynn):

2013, action-adventure, The Last of Us, still holds a special place in fans’ hearts. Known for pulling on the ol’ heartstrings, players take control of Joel, a smuggler, who is responsible for helping teenager, Ellie, travel across the post-apocalyptic USA. However, whilst he may not be one of the main characters, we can’t help but notice that Robert (one of the first antagonists) looks very familiar…

Somehow the highly-skilled swordsman from Game of Thrones has just fallen straight into this apocalyptic nightmare!

Final Fantasy II – Emperor Mateus (David Bowie):

In the second instalment of the infamous Final Fantasy series, the game centres around the Palamecian Empire, ruled by Emperor Mateus. Attempting to manipulate hellspawn, Emperor Mateus is determined to conquer the universe. Whilst, we are all supposed to focus on the Emperor as a villain, I can’t help but think he looks like a certain music icon…

Whilst we could never talk badly about the legend that is David Bowie, we have to admit these two adopt a similar style…

Gears of War – Marcus Fenix (David Bautista):

First released in 2006, Gears of War focuses on the planet Sera’s very last attempt to defeat a subterranean enemy threatening genocide. Players can choose whether they will battle it out single-player or team up with a group of friends in the game’s expansive multiplayer mode. The primary protagonist of the game, Marcus Fenix, who just happens to be voiced by John DiMaggio, but also looks quite similar to a Marvel action star…

It was even confirmed in the Gears of War 5 update, that Marcus Fenix was in fact based on WWE legend and Guardians of the Galaxy actor, David Bautista.

Tomb Raider – Lara Croft (Angelia Jolie):

A beloved game series, Tomb Raider is an action-adventure game. Players take control of archaeologist and survivalist, Lara Croft, on a series of whirlwind adventures and mysteries. Whether you are exploring a hidden temple or ruin, fighting dangerous enemies, or solving complex puzzles – there is plenty of never-ending nail-biting action for you to get your hands on.

Staring in the feature film, Lara Craft: Tomb Raider, Angelia Jolie was the perfect casting choice. Dressed in the iconic brown top and shorts with leg holsters and ponytail, Angelia Jolie has an uncanny resemblance to the video game character.
