Phanteks Showpiece Case

The NV7 is a true spectacle to behold, with it you can build a clean and beautiful gaming PC. The most obvious detail of this chassis is that it has not just one tempered glass panel, but two. This gives you a panoramic view of your prized hardware. To achieve this glorious result, the Phanteks NV7’s frame is constructed out of high-grade thick steel, with some pieces being 1.5mm thick. Alongside this, the frame is further reinforced with extra corner brackets that enhance the stylish design.

Through the crystal-clear side panels, you can appreciate the picture frame quality of the NV7. The motherboard and graphics card are placed front and centre with no distractions. The PSU, for example, has been moved out of the standard PSU basement compartment to a dedicated chamber above the motherboard, freeing up more space in the main chamber. Phanteks has also utilised this enclosure to aid in cable management, as it hides any cables attached to the top of the motherboard with a removable RGB cover that seamlessly blends into the chamber.

When it comes to fans, they have been arranged to surround the motherboard tray. There is a massive amount of space for fans within the NV7, as there is room for up to twelve fans in total. At the top of the case, three 120mm fans can be installed for exhaust. Down the right side of the motherboard, you can fit four 120mm fans as intakes. Along the slanted bottom, three more 120mm intake fans can be accommodated. Finally at the rear, unlike standard cases, two 120mm exhaust fans can be fitted. All these fans aid in drawing the eye to your motherboard, especially if you choose to opt for RGB fans such as the Phanteks D30.

Keeping it Hidden

Now it’s not just what the NV7 shows that makes it a remarkably beautiful case, it’s what it hides. This case conceals cables like nothing else, both inside and out. In addition to the first cable cover, the NV7 features a second one that is installed to the right of your motherboard. Fans of the wide boi E-ATX motherboards don’t need to worry, as it is fully adjustable. Alongside these clever panels is the amazing integrated cable management implemented at the rear of the case, featuring plenty of hidden pass-throughs, multiple Velcro straps, and even a dedicated bay to tuck cable slack out of the way.

Now that we’ve covered the internal cable management, we can move to the outside of the case. The Phanteks NV7 innovates by adding a rear door to the chassis, that conceals a unique cable grid system to channel cables from your I/O to the base of the case.

From here you can pass your cables neatly through the grill at the bottom. Alternatively, you can utilise the hidden grommets to route cables into the spacious air gap at the bottom of the case for easy access from the front of the case.

Phanteks Full Coverage Fans

Phanteks D30 standard RGB fan

As the Phanteks NV7 features astounding fan support, why not pick up some cheeky Phanteks D30 fans to accompany it? These fans pack it where it counts, performance-wise, with an airflow of up to 64.3CFM, at a static pressure that can reach 3.01mmH2O. Meanwhile, you’ll hardly notice them working, as the maximum noise a D30 fan can reach is just 31.8dB(A).

This performance might have piqued your interest, but what will lock you in is their innovative daisy-chain technology. The Phanteks D30 features an inventive interlocking mechanism, allowing you to control up to four fans with a single Y cable. D30 fan connectors are built into the corners of the frames. These can be linked together with a specialised bridge clip. What’s more, this connector also masks the seam between fans and, when linked with a screw cover, can create the effect of two fans being a single unit. To connect these fans to either a fan controller or your motherboard, you’ll need to utilise a proprietary Phanteks cable (included). This clips onto the corner connectors, and then splits into a 4-pin PWM and 3-pin JST connector.

That’s not all that makes the D30 stand out from the crowd, they come in both standard and reverse airflow models. By using a combination of these fans, you can create a flawless display, with reverse airflow fans for the intakes and standard fans on the exhaust. By doing this, the unsightly fan cages are hidden away from sight.

We’re not even done yet; I’ve not even touched on the Phanteks D30 fans’ RGB lighting. These fans utilise Phanteks HALOS lighting ring technology. Vivid LEDs shine their light directly onto the blades of the fan, which the white blades then reflect this light for a brighter and smoother effect. What’s more, D30 fans have strategic diffusers spread around their frames that channel light from the HALOS LEDs for a unified aesthetic when observed from any angle.
