Ducky One 3 Keyboards

Ducky is a powerhouse when it comes to mechanical keyboards. Their One 2 range has been massively successful and a firm favourite, which is why we are so excited to announce the arrival of Ducky One 3 keyboards!

Quacking Stuff!

The core principle of these keyboards is the innovative, new Quack Mechanics. These principles come together to create a sublime typing experience, whether you are gaming or typing up that report for your boss. But what are Quack Mechanics, you ask. They are: True PBT Keycaps, Solid Stance, Authentic Acoustics, and Balanced Tuning.

Still none the wiser? Don’t worry, I’ve got your quack. I mean back.

True PBT Keycaps

Any keyboard enthusiast will know that PBT keycaps are made from the highly durable plastic, polybutylene terephthalate. This material is fantastic for keycaps because it resists wear and tear with general usage, meaning your keys don’t get shiny over time. Even better, the Ducky One 3 keycaps come with a frosted texture for enhanced grip. PBT is also popular for its ability to hold colour, a very useful feature for this range, as you will see shortly. Plus, these keycaps are manufactured utilising the double-shot method, creating two layers with an integrated legend for a seamless finish.

Authentic Acoustics

There are a couple of factors at play here: an innovative combination of an EVA foam padding layer and Q-Bounce pads. Both reduce unwanted noise whilst also cushioning the impact of typing, meaning you get softer clacks and comfier wrists. The EVA foam layer is placed under the PCB whilst the Q-Bounce pads, made up of 17 different types of rubber, is integrated directly into the structure. Who knew there were so many types of rubber?!

Solid Stance

This mechanic refers to the redefined weight distribution of the range. A small change to the weight ratio at the back of these keyboards has massively improved the overall stability. Paired with the lower casing height, and you’ve got yourself a keyboard that will stand firm no matter how intense battle gets.

Balanced Tuning

Finally, we have balanced tuning which brings the various features of the Ducky One 3 range together into the next best keyboard you’re going to own. Utilising premium stabilisers, that were designed in-house, enjoy consistent and responsive feedback with every keystroke. Formulated from synthetic materials and lubrication, this effect is particularly pukka on the larger keys.

More Quacking Features

One of the stand-out features of the Ducky One 3 range is the amazing colour schemes on offer. Up for grabs, there is Daybreak, a vibrant blend of blue, grey, and yellow; Matcha, a soft combo of pastel pink and green; Fuji, a stark contrast of pale pink and dark blue; and Ducky Yellow, bold and entirely yellow. Plus, Daybreak and Ducky Yellow are then illuminated with vivid RGB lighting. Colours and effects can be set via Ducky Macro 2.0 software. How will you light yours up?

If this wasn’t enough choice for you already, there are four different sized keyboards* to choose from. The Ducky One 3 range is available in full-size, TKL, SF, and Mini. The full-size is a standard QWERTY keyboard with the full set of 105 keys, in a UK ISO layout. The TKL utilises an 80% form factor, offering the full F-key row and arrow keys, but sacrificing the numpad. Next up, the SF fits a niche in the market for 65% form factor keyboards. They include the arrow and some navigational keys but drop the F-key row to offer a much more compact product. Finally, the Mini has a 60% form factor which takes the SF to the next extreme, featuring the core keycaps only. Save on space without losing any functionality, thanks to macro mapping.

With so much on offer, it’s hard to not want one of each!

Quackers, There’s Even More

Oh yes, there’s more, because I haven’t even begun on switches yet. Out of the box, the Ducky One 3 range comes equipped with one of the available Cherry MX switches. As such, you have a choice of fast linear switches, like the Red and Speed Silver, or something crunchier, like the Black or Blue. However, these keyboards have been designed with hot-swappable PCBs and compatibility for all mainstream switches.

That’s right, you can mix and match switches to create the perfect blend of feedback for your specific gaming needs. Fancy Silent Red switches on your WASD keys? Go for it. Prefer the feel of Kailh Brown switches for typing? You do you. Been waiting for a sign to try out the Glorious Lynx switches? This is it!

On top of all this choice and customisation, you have a fantastic keyboard with N-key rollover and a keycap profile that has been sculpted for ease of access. Plus, there are adjustable feet on the underside of the bezel, which can be arranged in one of three heights. Set your perfect angle and type in complete comfort. Lastly, the Ducky One 3 interfaces with your gaming PC via a detachable USB-C cable that comes with a silicone cable tidy. It’s called the Duckling Ribbon and I love it.
