What is Resident Evil 3 about?
The Resident Evil 2 remake was a huge success so it’s no surprise Capcom is also bringing us a remake of the third game a little over 20 years since it’s original release all the way back in 1999. The storyline of the game is a prequel to the events of Resident Evil 2 and takes place in the familiar Racoon City. The outbreak of the deadly cannibal T-Virus has just begun and you playout the lives of the main characters, Jill Valentine a S.T.A.R operative who is trying to find the truth behind the virus and Carlos Oliveria an Umbrella mercenary. The horror aspect of the game plays on the fear of being constantly and relentlessly chased. Your Pursuer is the Nemesis which is an extremely powerful bio-weapon that has been sent to hunt down Jill and prevent her from revealing that the Umbrella Corporation is behind the outbreak.
Is Resident Evil 3 any good?
There is currently a Free Demo available for the game so fortunately, you can give it a go for yourself before the big release. The Demo itself reveals a few things and it all seems very promising with various game publications praising the rewarding gameplay. The city has been reimaged and current technology allows for a more open world full of detail. Everything is more realistic there is plenty of room to maneuver and explore. The controls have been improved and there is a focus on evasion in order to survive encounters. However, they’ll also be plenty of the classic Resident Evil gameplay we all love with powerful weaponry, intense combat, and interesting puzzles. There’s even a new multiplayer mode called Resistance which will massively increase replay value.

When is Resident evil 3 available to play?
We already mentioned there is a demo version available to give gamers a taste of what to expect. However, it’s not a long wait until the full release which is on the 3rd of April. If you happen to own an Xbox One the open beta is now live for Resistance and you can get in some much-needed practice. Unfortunately, there is a delay for the Resident Evil Resistance Open Beta on PS4 and Steam so it looks like the rest of us will have to wait for the full release.
