After nearly ten years, the Sims 4 ditched its entry fee and went free-to-play from October 18th 2023! As it frees up the finances of new and old players alike, it’s a great excuse to treat yourself to some of the many, many packs available.
Sims 4 sells additional content in three ways – hefty expansion packs, substantial yet niche game packs, and charming if shallow stuff packs. With over three dozen to choose from, it’s a good thing you can pick one of each to package into a custom bundle. To help you spend your saved money wisely, we’ve come up with eight themed Sims 4 bundles to treat yourself to! Whether you like to live out your celebrity fantasies or dabble in the occult, there’s a pick of packs to suit your playstyles.
The Essential Sims 4 Bundle: Seasons, Parenthood, and Laundry Day Packs
Our first suggestion is a bundle suited to everyone. Seasons is hands down the best expansion pack Sims 4 has to offer, building magnificently on the content of its predecessors. Not only does it add in weather conditions and all the fun that comes with them, but also a full calendar of holidays. With alternatively named Valentine’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and more to keep your Sims entertained, Seasons adds a real sense of time and milestone moments to your game.
The Parenthood Game Pack is similarly top of its class. While you’ll only experience its benefits if your Sims have a family, they make a big difference. From setting curfews to disciplining your children so they develop bonus traits as they grow up, Parenthood really makes parenting mean more than just making sure they don’t starve.
Lastly, and while you may not believe it, Laundry Day is probably the best stuff pack simply because it lets you do the laundry. That’s it. You can add baskets to your house, clean your clothes, dry them, and then put them away. We get it, you don’t believe us, but the simplicity of this loop makes it truly satisfying to add to your experience.
The Social Butterfly Sims 4 Bundle: Get Together, Dine Out, and Bowling Night Packs
Does your Sim like to get out of the house and paint the town red? Then you need to buy this bundle for Sims 4. First up is Get Together, one of the earlier expansion packs. While it doesn’t add a lot in terms of items, it provides a massive overhaul for gameplay. This is thanks to new social venues as well as the option to form and join clubs around specific hobbies. From gym rats to chess geeks, there’s an easy way for your Sim to get out and make new friends.
The other two packs in this bundle are just great compliments. Dine Out, while lacking some polish, lets you take your Sims out for a meal whether as a group or for a date. This was something noticeable by its absence in the base game. Bowling Night does one thing, add bowling. It does this well, providing a new group option and activity to go hand-in-hand with Get Together.
The Growing Up Sims 4 Bundle: Discover University, Parenthood, and Toddler Packs
Playing Sims 4 for the family fantasy? Then this is the trio for you. Discover University has been a staple expansion pack for every game since Sims 2 and is a welcome sight here. As you would expect, it lets you send Teen Sims off to get their college education and enter adulthood with extra traits and prospects. The High School Years expansion can work here too.
So good we listed it twice is the Parenthood Game Pack, which is a natural complement to this theme. For our Stuff Pack we went with Toddler. This life stage was infamously excluded when Sims 4 launched in 2016 but has since been patched into the game. Although mechanically fleshed out, it still lacks in content, so be sure to grab this Stuff Pack to fix that with extra outfits, toys, and the ability to go on play dates. Alternatively, spruce up things for the Child life stage with the Kids Room Stuff Pack.
The Holiday Maker Sims 4 Bundle: Snowy Escape, Jungle Adventure, and Backyard Packs
We heard you like escapist fantasies in your escapist fantasies? This bundle was hard to whittle down thanks to the plethora of getaway packs Sims 4 offers. We’ve picked Snowy Escape for the expansion pack, narrowly beating out Island Living. This is thanks to the unique world it adds into the game, as well as the many activities included that somehow manage to feel fresh amongst all the content Sims has been putting out for the last two decades.
The game pack was similarly contentious ground, with Outdoor Retreat and the Star Wars-themed Journey to Batuu also in conversation. Jungle Adventure snags it though, with its Latin-themed destination world offering such a different vibe with its unique customs. It helps the adventuring aspect makes holidays to Selvadorada feel so tonally different from others offered in Sims 4.
Round this all out with the Backyard Stuff Pack. If your Sim can only afford to go out to their garden for a holiday, at least they’ll have a slip-and-slide for when they do!
The Be a Star Sims 4 Bundle: Get Famous, Dream Home Decorator, and Moschino Packs
In a world where you can be anything you want, why not be famous? Make that happen in Sims 4 with this selection of packs. Get Famous does exactly as it says on the tin. This expansion pack lets you earn celebrity status, complete with adoring fans, in a new world heavily inspired by Hollywood itself. Appropriately, it adds an acting career and finishes the whole thing off with a perk tree that lets you chart your course to stardom. It doesn’t do much else for the game, but is perfect for the purposes of this bundle.
Pairing this with a good game pack was hard. Dream Home Decorator was our pick in the end because the interior design career pairs thematically, while the additional content is great for you to burn your extra Simoleons on. While Luxury Party nearly took the stuff pack spot thanks to its added glitz, it was the glamour of Moschino that won us over in the end. Fashion and stardom go hand-in-hand, so the extra options this pack offers is sure to enhance your Sim’s celebrity experience.
The Pet Lover Sims 4 Bundle: Cats & Dogs, Outdoor Retreat, and My First Pet Packs
Every new Sims game doesn’t feel complete until it’s had the three specific expansions – one for Seasons, one for University, and one for pets. Cats & Dogs opened the pet lover floodgates for Sims 4 in the best way possible. The expansion pack itself adds the titular four-legged friends to the game, complete with an impressive number of breeds to choose from, personalities to pick, and accessories to choose. A wide number of interactions and bonding opportunities helps them feel like key parts of your household.
While no game pack leans on the addition of pets to function, Outdoor Retreat works nicely. The original Sims 4 game pack gives you the opportunity to take the family away to the mountains to camp or hang out in a lodge. Long hikes in the forest with our beloved pooch? We’ll take seconds please. My First Pet is the obvious stuff pack for this theme, needing Cats & Dogs to work. It adds new items for pets, with a big focus on children, as well as a little hamster your kids can care for.
The Living Green Sims 4 Bundle: Cottage Living, Spa Day, and Tiny Living Packs
Sims 4 has evolved into a surprisingly socially conscious game since its release. On top of great LGBTQIA+ representation in Create-a-Sim, there are lots of Build Mode options to help you run an environmentally-friendly household. Double down on these features with this bundle of packs. Cottage Living, which we were super-excited for when it first came out, adds farming to the game alongside the cottagecore aesthetic. In its charming world inspired by the English countryside, you can raise animals like cows and chickens to live a rustic lifestyle that offers a truly different pace of gameplay for Sims 4.
Now that your Sims are feeling connected to the natural world, work on their spirituality with Spa Day. As well as letting them jet off for massages and steam room sessions, this game pack adds the wellness skill and yoga. Pair that with the Tiny Living Stuff Pack and you have a Sims 4 bundle perfect for the ethically-minded player!
The Spook-tacular Sims 4 Bundle: City Living, Vampires, and Spooky Packs
While there are plenty of ghoulish games you can play this October, buying this bundle for Sims 4 should get fill you with chills and thrills. While not explicitly scary, the City Living Expansion Pack gives a different environment for you to explore, one more befitting the creatures of the night. Offering apartments to rent instead of a suburban house to buy, it’s also a nice change of pace for the game overall.
The meat of your experience comes from your game pack. We’ve gone with Vampires as it also includes the gothic Forgotten Hollow world for you to reside in. You could equally pick Werewolves if you prefer lycanthropes or go full occult with Realm of Magic, too. Whichever you pick, finish it off with the Spooky Stuff Pack for full Halloween vibes! If you’re a year-round specter, you might prefer the Paranormal pack, perfect for channeling your inner ghost hunter!
