Lian Li rgb controlled cases

Prepare to wrap your minds around a doozey of a PC case. Continuing the line, Lian Li has released the O11D EVO – available in black, white, or grey. Designed in collaboration with der8auer once more, this mid-tower chassis takes modular to the extreme. It’s difficult to put into words just how much this PC case can do, but for you guys, I will do my best.

Modular to the Max

The Lian Li O11D range is known for its modularity, dual-chamber design, and utter flexibility when it comes to hardware. The EVO takes this concept and evolves it. Between its hassle-free design and the five accessories available, you can create a truly unique gaming PC.

One of the most innovative features of this mid-tower case is that is reversible. The top and bottom panels are easily removed and swapped. This means you can place your gaming PC on the left- or right-hand side of your desk, and it will still look showstopping. You simply adjust the case’s layout to suit. Whether in Normal or Reverse mode, the Lian Li O11D EVO can accommodate all your gaming hardware – with plenty of tricks up its sleeve that I have yet to reveal.

Lian Li O11D EVO White in Reverse

As standard, this case is equipped with a tempered glass panel in the front – tinted on the black and grey models! Alternatively, this can be switched out for a mesh panel, if you require additional airflow. This is thanks to the Lian Li O11DE-4 Front Mesh Kit

O11DE-4 Front Mesh Kit

Lian Li O11DE-4G Front Mesh Kit
Specification
1.5mm diameter mesh
Stainless steel
Includes fan bracket
3 x 120mm or 2 x 140mm fans
Available in black, grey, or white

With its fine mesh, this panel already enhances airflow within the Lian Li O11D EVO. The addition of the fan brackets means you can maximise airflow for optimised thermal performance. The included bracket supports either 3 x 120mm or 2 x 140mm fans. Between the mesh panel and your high-performance fans, this case will stay positively frosty!

As well as the front panel being modular, the I/O can be placed in one of three locations on the bottom of the chassis. Featuring two USB 3.0, one USB 3.1 Type-C, and one HD Audio port, this nifty module can be installed at the front, back right, or front left – whether in Normal or Reverse! Flexible and fast connectivity for the win. Plus, it gets better. There are two I/O accessories to further enhance your Lian Li O11D EVO. They are the Lian Li O11DE-3 Additional I/O Kit and O11DE-5 Top I/O Kit

O11DE-3 Additional I/O Kit

Specification
Features 2 x USB 3.0 and 1 x USB 3.1
Modular instalment
Compatible with Normal and Reverse mode
Additional I/O module
Available in black or white
Lian Li O11DE-3X Additional I/O Kit

This I/O module can be installed in addition to the one already available on the chassis. That puts another two USB 3.0 and one USB 3.1 Type-C at your disposal – especially handy for anyone rocking a full simulation set-up. Compatible with both Normal and Reverse modes, this module can be installed in one of the locations not being used by the original I/O panel. Unless, you keep your PC tower under your desk and need easier access to your ports. Then there is…

O11DE-5 Top I/O Kit

Specification
Strip panel replacement
Centrally places cut-outs of necessary ports
Matched to chassis finish
Easy access to ports
Available in black, white, or grey

This kit allows you to take the I/O panel from the bottom of the chassis and move it to the top panel. With the replacement strips featuring the necessary cut-outs, this kit features all the components needed to relocate the I/O panel. From there you will have easy access to the two USB 3.0, one USB 3.1 Type-C, and HD audio ports. Having the panel situated on the top means the additional I/O module can be placed in any of the three available spots.

Amazing Hardware Flexibility

Once you’ve decided how to configure the case, arranging the interior is the next task. This mid-tower chassis accommodates up to an E-ATX motherboard, maximising your foundation options. Everything about this case is “go big or go home”. Included with this chassis are nine SSD brackets and you have thirteen places to choose from for installation. Just imagine the gaming library you can keep over nine SSDs. Here is the list of potential drive bays whilst you think about getting every game on your wishlist.

  • Side Drive Tray: 2 x 2.5” SSDs or 2 x 3.5” HDDs
  • Cable Management Bar: 2 x 2.5” SSDs
  • Drive Cage: 3 x 2.5” SSDs or 2 x 3.5” HDDs and 1 x 2.5” SSD
  • Fan Bracket: 4 x 2.5” SSDs or 2 x 3.5” HDDs

The first three areas can be found in the smaller chamber, leaving the main chamber free for showpiece hardware. The cable management bar also features a cheeky Lian Li and der8auer plaque, in honour of the collaboration. Additionally, to help maintain thermal performance, the drive cage has a bracket for one 60mm fan. Should you find the drive cage is not needed in your gaming PC, this can be removed allowing for a second power supply to be installed in its place. You never know what hardware is going to drop that requires its own PSU!

One of the truly showstopping aspects of the Lian Li O11D EVO is how you place the GPU. There’s the standard horizontal mount, the increasingly popular vertical mount, or even the innovative upright mount. To do so requires an additional kit, either the Lian Li O11DE-1 Vertical GPU Kit or O11DE-2 Upright Kit

O11DE-1 Vertical GPU Kit

Specification
PCIe 4.0 riser cable
Includes bracket and support
Adjustable cable placement
200mm cable
Available in black or white
Lian Li O11DE-1X Vertical GPU Kit

With the Lian Li O11DE-1 Vertical GPU Kit, you can rotate your GPU through 90-degrees so that it is better displayed in your case. The riser cable operates with PCIe Gen 4 tech, providing lightning-fast speeds and double the bandwidth of the previous generation. It is designed to use three expansion slots, but the cable can be adjusted and clipped further into the bracket with the extra slot covered should your GPU only use two slots. What’s more, you can optimise airflow in the way that’s best for your case by placing the graphics card in one of two positions. Create more top airflow by placing it in the lower position, with a 50mm clearance from the bottom. Alternatively, place in the upper position, with a 90.5mm clearance, for the opposite effect.

O11DE-2 Upright GPU Kit

Lian Li O11DE-2X Upright GPU Kit
Specification
PCIe 4.0 riser cable
Includes bracket and support
Cable ties included
380mm cable
Available in black or white

The other option is to go for something truly showstopping, with the Lian Li O11DE-2 Upright GPU Kit. Instead of installing the graphics card in front of your motherboard, it is rather situated next to this component. Ordinarily, a radiator or water pump will occupy this space, but the GPU looks stunning in this configuration. Once again, the riser cable utilises PCIe 4.0, for the best possible performance, and is longer at 380mm. All the necessary brackets and support modules are included to keep your GPU secure and standing proud.

Phenomenal Cooling

As there are so many configurations for this PC case, you can pretty much cool it any way you want. Whether you like elaborate, custom loops or rely on wind power, there is a way to arrange the Lian Li O11D EVO to suit your needs.

Understandably, if incredible, natural airflow is how you keep cool then installing the front mesh panel is a must.

Across the chassis, there is support for up to 10 fans. The top, side, and bottom all either support three 120mm or two 140mm fans, whilst the rear panel has a single bracket for a 120mm fan. Pair this with the fine mesh and additional three fans, then you have enough airflow for a hurricane! Enhance this further with the upright GPU, for there will be less hardware obstructing the interior. Plus, your GPU is right there in the current – keeping nice and cool.

Should you prefer the horizontal or vertical mount, then this case is perfect for AiO systems. Rather than mounting just fans, the top, side, and bottom brackets can be used for either 360mm or 280mm radiators. With the lovely tempered glass side panel, you can go to town with an RGB AiO!

Finally, the Lian Li O11D EVO has great potential for custom water cooling. With the upright GPU configuration, there is clearer access to all the hardware allowing them to be individually cooled. Piping can be direct, sporting clean lines and a fresh look. Ultimately, with the GPU next to the motherboard instead of in front, your gaming PC can become a canvas for your water-cooling art. Go wild!

Aesthetics

The final thing to talk about with the Lian Li O11D EVO is its stunning aesthetics. The classic black sports tinted glass, entirely black interiors, and a brushed effect to finish. The white model resembles the O11D Mini Snow, with its entirely white chassis, clean white interiors, and crisp tempered glass. The grey is a new colour in the line-up, pairing the tinted glass with a sleek, slightly lighter grey finish.

Lian Li O11D EVO PC Case White

All three models feature a strip of RGB LEDs in the front panel, for a subtle splash of colour. This can be toggled through seven effects utilising the “M” button, located near the power button. True to this case, you can unlock an eighth effect if you connect to a compatible aRGB motherboard, utilising the L-Connect software, or via a Lian Li UNI HUB. This case is truly about giving you all of the options.
