A decade later, The Elder Scrolls Online is still capturing our attention with new DLC! In this article, we’ve got everything you need to know about ESO Gold Road.
The Elder Scrolls Online Gold Road not only brings new content and features but also introduces players to an unprecedented threat and a new Daedric Prince, Ithelia. There’s never been a better time to get back into this MMORPG. Honestly, it’s been four or so years since I last jumped into ESO, but Gold Road has absolutely captured my attention. There’s a new narrative unfolding in ESO and I’m so here for it.
Unveiling Ithelia: A New Daedric Prince
For the first time in The Elder Scrolls series, players will encounter Ithelia, a Daedric Prince shrouded in mystery. The storyline centres around uncovering Ithelia’s schemes and thwarting her devoted followers to protect Tamriel from the chaos of unbridled change.
Exploring the West Weald
Gold Road introduces The West Weald, a whole new zone that fans of Oblivion will recognise. This bountiful region is home to the wealthy Colovian Imperials and the city of Skingrad, now beset by Daedric incursions and the encroaching jungles of Valenwood. Not only is this area visually stunning, but it’s filled to the brim with new stories, quests, and adventures for us to sink our teeth into.
Scribing
One of the standout features of Gold Road is the introduction of Scribing, a new game system that allows players to manipulate the nature of magic itself. We can finally collect and customise skills to tailor our builds to a whole new level of freedom in ESO’s gameplay. Scribing adds a layer of depth to character development, ensuring that no two characters are alike.
Lucent Citadel: A New 12-Player PvE Trial
For those seeking a challenge, the Lucent Citadel offers an all-new 12-player PvE trial. Located within the otherworldly wastes of Fargrave, you’ll need to explore a long-forgotten Daedric vault in search of the mysterious Reanimating Crux. With boss encounters and challenging foes inside, you must work together to make it through to the riches and rewards inside.
Skill Styling: Visual Customisation for Abilities
Gold Road also introduces Skill Styling, a feature that allows us to change the way key abilities look. While this feature doesn’t affect combat, it does let us customise our characters to an even deeper level.
