It’s been a good run for innovative gaming keyboards. The Endgame Gear KB65HE, the Glorious GMMK 3, and now the Ducky One X.
Keyboard fanatics, buckle up, because this one is a doozy! We’ve got a new type of switch, tri-mode connectivity, browser-based setting software, premium build materials, and a selection of sizes and colours to choose from. Want to know more? Let’s get quacking.
The One X
The Ducky One X is the world’s first inductive gaming keyboard. (We’ll get into what that means shortly.) Armed with a great selection of features, the One X will seamlessly integrate into both your work and gaming set-ups. Thanks to tri-mode connectivity, you can even take it from one to the other!
It is available in full-size (100%) and Mini (60%) form factors, in either black or white. We have models arranged in the UK ISO layout, and each form factor comes with an array of native hotkeys to enhance functionality. And, of course, their classic aesthetics are tied together with vibrant per-key RGB lighting. A solid start, and we haven’t even gotten into the innovative tech yet!

Inductive Switches
Typically, gaming keyboards are equipped with mechanical switches. Hall Effect magnetic switches are also becoming popular, for the customisation advantages they offer. Ducky has taken switch innovation in a new direction with Ducky AI Inductive Switches. Instead of relying on magnets, which can decay in strength over time, these use data from stem movement detected by electromagnetic fields generated by coils on the PCB. This results in greater accuracy, consistency, and more efficient power usage – a bonus for wireless set-ups!
The Ducky AI Inductive Switches feature smooth linear feedback, and their actuation point can be adjusted from anywhere between 0.1mm to 3.5mm. It all depends on your typing style and preference – or even the current use. You may prefer a much shorter actuation point when gaming for those rapid, quick-fire attacks, versus a longer actuation while typing to avoid mis-clicks.
On top of this, you can activate Rapid Trigger and multi-point trigger functionality on these switches. Rapid Trigger enables a dynamic reset point, which starts as soon as you release the key rather than at a set point. This means you can re-actuate the key mid-press. Your enemies will never know what hit them!
Multi-point trigger functionality allows you to assign up to four actions on one single key. Two can go on the down press and another two on the release. This enables you to layer functions, like making your character walk and then sprint, with just one press of a button. Talk about optimising your gameplay!
Enhanced Quack Mechanics
Ducky’s Quack Mechanics have been well established since the release of the One 3 Series. These design improvements have facilitated smoother typing and a more comfortable experience, all with a satisfying sound. Well, now it’s even better.
The Ducky One X utilises Quack Mechanics+.
This starts with the gasket mount and seven-layer dampening system. Utilising carefully selected materials, this system enhances the acoustics while removing any unwanted wobble, echoes, and noises. Nothing but smooth, pleasant click clacks on the Ducky One X! Plus, the in-house designed, plate-mounted stabilisers ensure that even the long keys have a stable press. Naturally, we have a quick table for you, detailing all the materials and how they absorb sound.

| Silicone bottom foam | The foam bottom eliminates any echoes and ensures a flat surface for the IXPE foam layer above. |
| Housing gaskets | This final layer prevents echoes and movement between housings. |
PBT Keycaps
Even the PBT keycaps have been improved. The industry standard is for keycaps to be 60% PBT, but the Ducky One X utilises high-purity PBT keycaps that boast an 85% content. This makes them incredibly resistant to wear and shine, even with extended use, and they feature a superior texture for easy grip. It’s all about that unparalleled typing experience.
Tri-Mode Connectivity
Tri-mode connectivity was first seen on Ducky keyboards with their Zero 6108. The One X also has this feature and, of course, takes it one step further.
You can connect via USB-C, 2.4GHz radio frequencies, or Bluetooth – each sporting a 1,000Hz polling rate for reliable data transfer. Where the Ducky One X elevates performance is via Bluetooth. There is support for multi-device connectivity. You can pair the Ducky One X with up to four devices, simultaneously! Even better, you can toggle seamlessly between these devices using the native hotkeys Fn and Q, W, E, and R. Perfect for boosting productivity.
Web-Based Settings Software
All the Ducky One X settings can be fine-tuned on a web-based software, Ducky Hub. This offers an intuitive interface where you can adjust actuation points, activate switch features, configure lighting, and more. All on one easy-to-use platform. Plus, as it’s web-based, it won’t hog any space on your storage solution!
Please note, the software must be used when connected via USB.
