Since early December, BBC Radio 4 has been airing a radio play called Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Firewall. Inspired by the famous Splinter Cell franchise, it has been exciting to see yet more gaming content from the BBC.
The gripping story is brought to life by veteran radio actors and a few famous names for good measure. If you’ve been on the fence about listening, then read on to learn more about this radio play and the best ways to listen.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Firewall Radio Play
Starring Fourth Echelon agent Sam Fisher, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Firewall follows the narrative of James Swallow’s novel of the same name. Whilst on a recruiting mission to train the next generation of agents, Fisher is met with some familiar faces. His own daughter, Sarah, and an assassin he believed to be dead. A threat to global security is revealed, and our favourite Splinter Cell agent is thrust back into the action once more.
Taking on the role of Sam Fisher is radio acting veteran Andonis Anthony, of The Archers fame. Sarah is voiced by Daisy Head, a rising star in the radio voice acting world who is already winning awards for her phenomenal performances. The eagle-eared among you may recognise Will Poulter, famous for his wiggly eyebrows and role in Meet the Millers, making his first foray into radio acting.
“I really hope fans of the Splinter Cell game enjoy this – not only does it have all the action, tension and excitement that the game is famous for, but it also has more elements – there is a lot of comedy, the drama is expanded and horizons broadened by the characters and what they get up to.”
