What is Wasteland 3 about? The history of Wasteland goes way back to the first game published in 1988. The series was revived in 2014 with the release of Wasteland 2 and the latest release Wasteland 3 follows on from the events of that game. You play the role of a desert ranger battling to survive in the aftermath of a nuclear war. The aim is to build a new base, train recruits and help save Colorado to form an alliance and rescue your homeland of Arizona.
At the heart of Wasteland 3 is a squad-based roleplaying game that features tactical combat, exploration, and an in-depth story that changes with every decision you make. You can team up and create a squad of up to six Rangers, which can all be customised depending on your playstyle. Wasteland 3 even introduces vehicles that can be upgraded into hardened war beasts, loaded with weapons, to help mow down your enemies. |
Is Wasteland 3 any good?Initial reviews of the game are very positive. Game publications who are lucky enough to have early access have praised the excellent story writing and immersive gameplay. The world is populated with wonderful characters that make interactions quirky and fun or sometimes dark and dangerous. Each choice you make often has permanent consequences and there have been improvements to character creation and the inventory system. The game has also been compared to Fallout and if you’re disappointed with the direction that the post-apocalyptic franchise has gone in Wasteland 3 is shaping up to be a worthy replacement. |

Will my PC run Wasteland 3?
Taking a look at the PC specifications reveals that Wasteland 3 is a pretty easy game to run. The graphics look quality but it’s likely the isometric perspective helps reduce the strain on your system. Beta testers have noticed a few hiccups when it comes to performance but these should be ironed out in the coming months.
Minimum specifications feature hardware from 10 years ago so even if you have an older gaming PC you will at least be able to run Wasteland 3. Recommended specifications are a little more demanding but if you’ve invested in a mid-tier PC in the last 5 years you won’t have any problems even at high graphical settings. |
