It’s time to sharpen your swords, make some potions, and get ready for Monster Hunter Wilds

What You Need to Know About Monster Hunter Wilds

Since the first trailer dropped, we have been eagerly waiting for Monster Hunter Wilds to release on PC. Available to play from February 28th 2025, we have got everything you need to know ahead of downloading this foray into the Monster Hunter world. From gameplay details to official specifications, and even a cheeky PC rec or two – we’re here to make sure you’re ready to take down some monsters.

Monster Hunter Wilds Gameplay

Monster Hunter Wilds is the latest in the Capcom series, taking us to a whole new village surrounded by tough and perilous lands. You play as the Hunter, tasked with tracking and defeating powerful monsters that live in the Forbidden Lands. Hone your fighting skills, forage for materials to make new weapons and armour, and familiarise yourself with the environment – it’s going to take more than just hacking and slashing to best these monsters.

The Forbidden Lands

The greatest challenge you will face as the Hunter may not be the beasts themselves, but the Forbidden Lands. These wide and treacherous lands have shifting weather that will change on you constantly. There are harsh Fallow and perilous Inclemency periods, where monsters will hunt you as much as you hunt them. But in periods of Plenty, there will be abundant wildlife and plenty of materials to forage for your next set of weapons and armour.

The world is in constant flux, and the monsters will adapt their behaviours to better survive and thrive. As the Hunter, you too must be flexible with your tactics, mastering more than one weapon so you are always ready for whatever these battles throw your way. Thankfully, there is an impressive collection of ranged and melee weapons to specialise in, and different armours to suit various environments, fighting styles, and more.

Build your hunter through a compelling story that will take you deep into the Forbidden Lands.
