Hi I’ve been playing rust and I’ve heard it’s a very CPU intensive game. My GPU is always on 100% and my cpu is usually around 30% though? Not sure what I would need to upgrade to be able to get better FPS. Any replies would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would start by posting your full PC spec and gaming resolution.

Looking at that tho surely your bottleneck is the GPU as its pinned at 100% all the time and the CPU is only at 30%.

Having a quick look online the recommended hardware requirements are
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-4690K / AMD Ryzen 5 1600
  • CPU SPEED: Info
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • OS: Windows 10 64bit
  • VIDEO CARD: GTX 980 / AMD R9 Fury
  • PIXEL SHADER: 5.1
  • VERTEX SHADER: 5.1
  • FREE DISK SPACE: 12 GB
  • DEDICATED VIDEO RAM: 4096 MB

I use 1080p and I have an rx580 (8gb), Ryzen 7 1800x overclocked to 4ghz, 3200mghz ddr4 16gb of ram. Would you have any recommendations for a new gpu then? Thanks

I do not know much about rust but looking at this video he has the same low cpu usage and maxed out gpu.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sviac0g1k58

I am unsure if this is still the case but the game maybe limited to 4 core max, again this was mentioned in another video

what fps are you getting in the game?
I get about the same as the guy in the video (60-70 usually) just wondering what I would need to upgrade to get more frames. Thanks again
