The Ducky One 3 in detail
The Ducky One 3 mechanical gaming keyboard is designed to give you the best possible typing experience. All-round high-quality workmanship and trimmed for short response times, the Ducky One 3 offers gamers and keyboard enthusiasts a luxurious typing experience. In addition, the switches are not soldered, but mounted on sockets. This means that they can be exchanged very easily and without any soldering.
The variant of the Ducky One 3 offered here is in the 80 percent TKL form factor . By doing without the numeric keypad, it takes up less space on the desk, but is also less suitable for office applications.
Mechanical switches in detail: Cherry MX Blue
This version uses Cherry MX Blue switches . These key switches are very tactile, offering a very precise, tactile switch point and making an audible click when pressed . These are switches that are ideal for people who write a lot. Typing becomes a pleasure with these key switches. But gaming is also possible at a high level with the Cherry MX Blue switches.
QUACK Mechanics
With this keyboard, the manufacturer introduces its design philosophy QUACK Mechanics. Ducky considers four key aspects that are critical to the typing experience: the keycaps, the body, the sound, and the stabilizers.
That's why all versions of the Ducky One 3 offer high-quality keycaps made of PBT. The semi-crystalline plastic is particularly popular with keyboard modders because it is resistant to abrasion. Ducky casts the keycaps from two layers of plastic so that the key labeling is always easy to read. The keycaps don't develop the luster that other plastics tend to have, which is caused by intensive use. This keeps the keyboard looking like new for a long time.
Flat case and smooth sound
A common criticism of mechanical keyboards is their bulkiness. The newly developed housing of the Ducky One 3 is flatter than that of its predecessors and, in combination with the three-stage feet, relieves the wrist.
To improve the sound and typing feel, Ducky tested a total of 17 different rubber compounds and selected the most suitable variant for the Q-Bounce Pad. This is combined with an additional EVA foam layer to effectively dampen resonances when typing and hard keystrokes.
