For Ryzen 7000 Series, AMD has introduced two flagship lines of processors. Both the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7000 WX and 7000 line of CPUs feature huge generational improvements, including up to 96 high-frequency Zen 4 cores delivering never-before-seen desktop performance. Built for professionals and designed for the ultimate prosumers, this generation of AMD Threadripper processors is equipped with world-class security features and next-level reliability. What’s more, thanks to improved power efficiency, better performance in lightly threaded applications, and a larger L3 Cache, Threadripper CPUs are a great choice for your next workstation.
Two Chipsets
As part of the next generation of Ryzen Threadripper CPUs, AMD has introduced two new chipsets for both 7000 series and Pro 7000 WX-series processors.
TRX50 is planned to be available at launch and is compatible with PRO 7000 WX and 7000 Series CPUs. This new chipset allows for up to 80 PCIe lanes! Including support for 48 PCIe Gen 5. Additionally, overclocking is enabled and you can equip TRX50 motherboards with quad-channel DDR5 memory.
Set to launch later, WRX90 chipset motherboards will feature compatibility with only Pro 7000 WX Series processors. Designed for the most intense workloads, the WRX90 chipset boasts support for octo-channel DDR5 memory and up to 136 PCIe lanes! Including support for 128 Gen 5 PCIe.
